Our clients include SAAS products, big data, AI and data security companies. We are experts in the marketing of B2B technology businesses, with our core service offering of strategy, website design, development and marketing integrations. UpTrending has been a globally distributed team for our entire history. Though our HQ is now planted in Southern California, we have core team members across the globe from engineering to leadership. What You’ll Do As a Developer at UpTrending, you’ll be working as part of a passionate team to supercharge the business of intelligent technology brands and translate their message into polished elegance in any medium. Reporting to our Director of Technology, you’ll work with our Project Managers to act as the lead UI developer across several client accounts while mentoring others in our dev team along the way. Requirements 5+ years of professional experience with Web Development Demonstrated expertise in responsive, semantic HTML5, CSS, SASS, JavaScript and jQuery Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal) 3-5 years of experience developing with PHP and Wordpress Expertise in 3+ software languages/frameworks (e.g. Angular, React, PHP, Python) Complete understanding of git branching, merging and rebasing; familiarity with git-flow Strong proficiency with MySQL databases Pixel-perfect attention to visual detail Expert ability in mobile responsive, and optimizing for different devices and browsers Knowledge of servers, staging vs local environments and build tools including Gulp, npm Experience with front-end marketing requirements - including optimization, SEO, analytics, marketing automation and event tracking (e.g. Google Analytics Events, Google Tag Manager, Marketo, Hubspot, Salesforce) Excellent analytical skills to innovate ideas with our team and troubleshoot frontend issues for our clients BA/BS degree or higher, or a combination of education and applicable experience Reside within a 5-hour time difference of USA Pacific timezone, year-round An overall positive attitude, with a passion for coding and taking pride in your work A Big Plus Deep knowledge of Bootstrap, SASS, Wordpress, Rest APIs, Angular and/or React Clean, organized code and DRY principles Recent experience in a digital agency environment, working with a project manager Design education or professional experience as a UI or UX designer Familiarity with tech startups and online marketing technology Passion for writing good tech documentation and enforcing process Knowledge of Jira, kanban and Agile best practice Prior experience with frontend for an MVC such as Laravel, Django, Ruby on Rails Degree in computer science, or interaction design A passion for learning and keeping up with the latest trends Unicorns Will Have Experience building re-usable Wordpress themes and extensive knowledge of Wordpress Knowledgeable in serverless architecture and flat-file CMS systems Experience with web animation and motion graphics Prior experience as a mentor or team lead, or as a client-facing dev Experienced with systems and/or DevOps tasks - rebooting servers via SSH, CI tools etc Have built your own tooling or build tasks Worked for both tech product startups AND agencies alike Slack power-user Able to work on-site at our HQ in Westlake Village, CA The Perks Remote OK Work alongside a positive, professional and ego-free team with a high bar for good work Competitive salary Flexible vacation policy Application Process Please send your resume and a casual cover letter letting us know who you are Provide any links to your website / portfolio Include a link to Github, LinkedIn, Twitter or other social profile Please be prepared to provide code samples during interview process We look forward to hearing from you!
