Overview

A growing software company based near Utrecht is hiring a Frontend Developer on a permanent, hybrid basis, with two to three days in the office per week. The salary is 65,000 euros gross per year.

This role exists because a key frontend seat has opened up in a small, tight-knit product team, and filling it properly matters. The team is three people: two backend developers and a QA. The new hire owns the entire frontend, built on Angular, and ships meaningful new features from the roadmap rather than just maintaining what is already there. What makes this role interesting is the scope for real influence: the hiring manager designs the product, but they want a collaborator who will push back, bring ideas, and raise the quality of what gets built. There is also a genuine opportunity to shift how the team works, by bringing serious AI-assisted coding fluency into a team that has not yet embraced it. For the right person, that is a chance to move faster than the competition and leave a visible mark on both the product and the way the team operates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the frontend end to end, building and maintaining the UI in Angular
  • Ship significant new features aligned to the product roadmap
  • Actively question and contribute to design decisions, not just execute them
  • Introduce and embed AI-assisted coding practices across your own workflow and the wider team
  • Collaborate closely with two backend developers and one QA in a small, cross-functional team

Requirements

Must-haves:

  • Strong, hands-on Angular experience
  • Genuine fluency with AI coding tools, used in real production work
  • Ability to critique and improve designs, not just implement them
  • Comfortable owning a frontend independently in a small team

Nice-to-haves:

  • Figma experience, working directly with design files
  • Background shipping features in a product-focused environment

What Success Looks Like

  • Significant roadmap features shipped within the first year
  • AI-assisted workflows visibly improving the team's delivery speed
  • Designs actively shaped and elevated through collaboration with the hiring manager
  • Frontend quality and consistency raised to a level that sharpens the product's competitive position

Team and Culture

  • A small team of four, where every person's contribution is directly visible
  • Flat structure, with the hiring manager involved in design and open to being challenged on it
  • A team at an early point in adopting AI tooling, where the right person can genuinely lead the shift

Challenges

  • The team does not yet rely heavily on AI coding tools, so the new hire will need to model that approach and bring others along over time
  • Designs come from the hiring manager, which means the role calls for someone confident enough to push back and add expertise, not someone who waits to be told what to build
  • A small team and an active roadmap mean the pace is real, and there is no large support structure to absorb slow starts
