Frontend Engineer

As a Frontend Engineer at Canopy, you will design and build world-class user interfaces using technologies such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Svelte, Vite, GraphQL, Tailwind, and other modern frontend tools. You will work closely with our design team to implement high-fidelity mockups and prototypes, and translate them into robust, maintainable code. You will also interface with our backend team to build strong interoperability with our backend stack. We are looking for candidates with strong experience in JavaScript generally. TypeScript in a very nice-to-have, but not strictly required... a desire to learn would be a must, though. We've decided to build our front end stack with Svelte. Svelte experience is not a strict requirement (being that it is a somewhat new framework), but candidates should have multiple years experience in at least one of the following: React, Vue.js, Angular, or Svelte. Having a BS or MS degree in Computer Science is preferred, but bootcamp and/or self-taught candidates are also accepted, provided you have multiple years of experience. Candidates with a self-built portfolio / resume website will be extra welcome. Similarly, bonus points will be granted to candidates who have contributed to open source, and can share these accomplishments with us. You should have very strong communication skills, be a very hard worker, and be extremely self-driven. We should be able to leave you alone for an afternoon, and trust that you're making progress on all the right things.
