This role is ideal for someone with a keen sense of design who is excited to own the frontend experience and play a major role in defining the product's look and feel. You’ll work on creating intuitive, high-performance user interfaces that make interacting with Remark seamless and engaging. We use a modern TypeScript-based stack, with React and Next.js powering the frontend. While this role is primarily frontend-focused, you’ll also have the opportunity to learn backend development if you're interested. This is a high-ownership role where you’ll have the flexibility to design and implement frontend experiences, influence UI/UX decisions, and create a cohesive user experience across the platform. If you’re passionate about frontend development, owning design decisions, and crafting polished, responsive interfaces, this role is for you. 📓Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain responsive and user-friendly frontend applications Participate in the UI/UX design process, ensuring Remark’s platform is intuitive, accessible, and visually appealing Optimize performance, accessibility, and usability across different devices and browsers Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical decision-making Balance speed and quality, with a focus on tangible results Develop actionable roadmaps for new capabilities, and work with the engineering team to execute on that roadmap 🛠Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Design, or a related technical field Must be able to commit to at least 3 days/week in person in our Boston, MA office location Experience with React and Next.js, or similar frontend frameworks Strong sense of design and user experience, with an eye for details and usability Familiarity with CSS-in-JS frameworks (e.g., Tailwind) Experience working with Figma or other design tools to collaborate on UI/UX Ability to work independently, own the frontend experience, and solve complex UI challenges Nice-to-have: Experience at a fast-growing startup or similar environment 🎈Bonus points if You have cool open-source contributions You thrive when things move fast You've seen a mountain goat 🐐 ⚕️Benefits Hybrid work flexibility with the opportunity to WFH 2 days/week Full healthcare benefits (medical, dental, vision) Flexible PTO ( at least 15 days / year recommended) At least 1 company retreat annually $500 expense reimbursement for qualified fitness and outdoor recreation activities 🚀 Ready to join?
