We are looking for a skilled Front-End Engineer to build scalable, responsive, and intuitive web interfaces. In this role, you will lead UI development leveraging modern tooling—specifically React, TypeScript, Vite, and AWS Cloudscape Design System—while connecting seamlessly to distributed backend services.
Beyond crafting sleek client-side code, you will act as a well-rounded technologist who grasps the complete application lifecycle. You will partner closely with backend peers on API design, inspect cloud logs, and assist in diagnosing issues across AWS hosting environments to ensure reliable end-to-end delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- User Interface Development: Architect, implement, and maintain accessible, component-driven, and high-performance web applications using React and TypeScript.
- Modern Build Tooling & Design Systems: Accelerate development cycles and deliver production-grade bundles utilizing Vite and enterprise design components from AWS Cloudscape.
- Data Flow & API Integration: Connect front-end clients with backend REST APIs, managing complex state lifecycles, authentication flows, asynchronous data payloads, and robust error handling.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with backend engineers to establish clear API contracts, troubleshoot integration bottlenecks, and ship cohesive end-to-end features.
- Cloud Diagnostics & Support: Perform first-line triage and basic root-cause analysis for services and web apps hosted on AWS (analyzing logs, network connectivity, and deployment configs).
- Engineering Standards & Delivery: Actively engage in code reviews, UI architecture discussions, automated testing, and agile ceremonies to uphold quality and maintainability.
Candidate Profile & Qualifications
Core Requirements:
- Proven Front-End Track Record: Several years of hands-on software development experience with a demonstrable focus on modern Single-Page Applications (SPAs).
- Primary Tech Stack: Extensive day-to-day proficiency with React and strict TypeScript.
- Ecosystem Familiarity: Practical experience configuring and building with Vite alongside the AWS Cloudscape component library (or comparable enterprise design systems).
- API Integration Mastery: Strong experience consuming, mapping, and managing state for production RESTful web services.
- Hybrid Technical Literacy (The 60/20/20 Mindset):
- Strong foundational front-end craftsmanship (~60%).
- Working familiarity with backend patterns, data models, and microservice communication (~20%).
- Basic operational familiarity with AWS hosting, log inspection (e.g., CloudWatch), and cloud connectivity troubleshooting (~20%).
- DevOps & Code Quality: Working knowledge of Git, CI/CD pipelines, clean code practices, and unit/integration testing methodologies.
- Education & Communication: Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical industry experience; fluent written and verbal English.
Nice-to-Have Credentials:
- Practical experience implementing WCAG accessibility standards and automated UI/E2E testing (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, Jest).
- Exposure to identity and security protocols (OAuth2, OIDC, JWT, IAM permissions).
- Hands-on knowledge of standard AWS hosting stacks for web apps (S3, CloudFront, ECS/Fargate, Lambda, API Gateway).
