Job Description:
A reliable and flexible developer who can work on the front end, APIs, databases, and deployments. They write and check their code carefully, follow the team's development and release processes, keep everyone updated on progress or problems. They work well with API, infrastructure, and testing teams, accept feedback, and take ownership of their work until it is tested and deployed.
Job Description
- Build and maintain web applications using Angular, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS/SCSS.
- Plan and deliver migrations of existing applications to the latest stable Angular version and an appropriate Node.js LTS version. Assess breaking changes, update dependencies, address compatibility issues, and validate builds and tests. Develop and support Node.js services and APIs, including Express-based applications.
- Build and maintain Python APIs and background services, including Flask/FastAPI applications.
- Write, review, and optimize MongoDB queries and aggregations, including indexing and performance troubleshooting.
- Work across repositories to trace issues from the user interface through APIs, databases, and deployment.
- Use Git effectively for branching, committing, merging, and resolving conflicts. Integrate code across repositories while keeping changes focused, traceable, and reviewable.
- Follow the team's development and release processes: use pull requests and code reviews, respect branch and approval policies, and coordinate changes with dependencies.
- Follow established deployment procedures, including CI/CD checks, environment-specific configuration, release approvals, deployment verification, and rollback or incident response.
- Package and deploy applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
- Write testable code, document changes, communicate risks and progress, and collaborate constructively with teammates.
Required qualifications
- Professional experience building and supporting full-stack applications.
- Hands-on experience with Angular and TypeScript, Node.js, and Python.
- Experience developing and consuming REST APIs.
- Practical MongoDB experience, including queries, aggregations, and performance tuning.
- Strong working knowledge of Git-based collaboration, including pull requests, code reviews, merges, and conflict resolution.
- Experience following structured CI/CD, release, and deployment processes.
- Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes; Helm experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience upgrading or modernizing production applications, including framework and runtime migrations.
- Familiarity with testing, debugging, secure coding, version control, and production support.
- Ability to work independently across multiple codebases and collaborate effectively.
- Experience migrating older Angular applications to newer major versions.
- Experience upgrading Node.js runtimes and resolving package or runtime compatibility issues.
- Experience with Azure or another cloud platform.
- Familiarity with Python data-processing/reporting workloads and scheduled jobs.
- Exposure to relational databases or graph databases.
- Experience maintaining enterprise applications or a portfolio of related services.
