Job Description:
We are looking for a hands-on full-stack engineer who combines strong software development skills with technical ownership and a continuous-improvement mindset.
Your primary responsibility will be to independently design, refine, develop, and maintain core foundational modules and reusable capabilities supporting our applications. You will work across frontend, backend, APIs, and cloud services, using React or a comparable framework and GCP.
You will build within established shared architecture and engineering frameworks, contributing improvements where needed. In addition to developing software yourself, you will review vendor implementations and provide technical guidance across development, SRE, QA, and operations when required.
This is primarily a hands-on engineering role. Technical oversight complements direct software delivery; it does not replace it.
Key Responsibilities:
- Refine requirements and design solutions. Translate business needs and user stories into clear technical requirements, implementation plans, and maintainable solution designs.
- Independently develop full-stack software. Build, test, and maintain frontend applications, backend services, APIs, and GCP-based components.
- Build reusable engineering foundations. Develop shared modules, services, and reference implementations aligned with horizontal architecture frameworks and engineering standards.
- Own delivery through the software lifecycle. Take developed components from design and implementation through automated testing, CI/CD deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
- Ensure production readiness. Incorporate security, reliability, observability, performance, and supportability into solutions from the outset.
- Review and validate vendor implementations. Conduct code reviews, assess automated tests, and validate applications against agreed requirements and engineering standards.
- Provide technical oversight when required. Guide vendor development, SRE, QA, and operations teams on implementation quality, technical issues, and production readiness.
- Continuously reduce technical debt. Identify and prioritize refactoring, dependency updates, automation, and reliability improvements. Use available capacity between delivery commitments to implement agreed improvements.
- Collaborate across teams. Work with product, architecture, platform, security, and operations stakeholders to resolve dependencies and deliver integrated solutions.
Job Qualifications
Required:
- Demonstrated hands-on full-stack development experience, including frontend applications, backend services, APIs, and data persistence.
- Practical experience with React or a comparable modern frontend framework, with the ability to apply that experience to our frontend stack.
- Working familiarity with GCP, including how cloud services support application development, deployment, and operation.
- Ability to independently take a defined component from requirements to working software, including technical design, implementation, testing, and documentation.
- Sound software engineering fundamentals, including maintainable code, application architecture, version control, automated testing, and CI/CD.
- Ability to review code and troubleshoot applications, identifying defects, design weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement.
- An architectural mindset within established frameworks, balancing reuse, simplicity, security, reliability, and maintainability.
- A proactive continuous-improvement approach, with willingness to refactor existing code and address technical debt, not only develop new features.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to explain technical decisions and guide internal and vendor engineering teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
Preferred:
- Experience developing reusable modules, shared services, or platform capabilities.
- Exposure to SRE, observability, production support, and infrastructure automation.
- Experience reviewing vendor-developed software or collaborating with external engineering teams.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools with appropriate code review, testing, and security validation.
We offer
- P&G-sized projects and access to world leading IT partners and technologies from Day 1.
- Wide range of self-development possibilities (training and certifications paths).
- Competitive starting salary and benefits program (private health care, P&G stock, saving plans, sport cards).
- Regular salary increases and possible promotions - in line with your results and performance.
- Opportunity to change role every few years to be in the best place for you and best for P&G.
