ABOUT THE POSITION As a Full Stack Engineer at Assetnote, you will work across the entire stack of our Continuous Security Platform: our Python/Flask API and GraphQL layer, our Golang distributed scanning engine, and our TypeScript React frontend. This is a broad role for engineers who want ownership of features end to end, from the scanning engine that powers our discovery through to the interfaces our customers rely on every day. Rather than being limited to a single area, you will move fluidly between the backend API, the engine, and the frontend depending on what a feature needs. Day to day you will be interfacing directly with our engine developers, API engineers, frontend engineers, and security researchers. Assetnote is a remote-first company. This position is remote with a preference for candidates located in Australia only. WHAT WILL I DO? Writing high-quality Python code and iterating on our Flask back end and GraphQL schema Architecting scalable solutions for querying and optimising our PostgreSQL database, using SQLAlchemy as an ORM Building and maintaining our distributed security scanning engine (Golang, with some NodeJS and Python), writing low allocation, highly optimised code for scanning various protocols Scaling our scanning applications to millions of targets every hour, improving scalability, performance and reliability across the platform Designing, implementing and maintaining frontend interfaces and components in TypeScript React with user experience in mind Developing and maintaining tests across our API, engine and frontend code bases Taking initiative for feature development end to end, managing dependencies and continuously extending our security capabilities Working as part of a high-performing team on challenging problems Contributing to the design of our platform by working with product teams and other stakeholders, across both customer-facing and internal projects WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? Back end and API Python and Flask SQLAlchemy PostgreSQL GraphQL Experience building and maintaining scalable and performant database models Engine Golang Distributed systems and software architecture Writing optimised code for scanning or processing at scale Frontend TypeScript and React Designing and engineering frontend components with user experience in mind Apollo / GraphQL on the client NICE TO HAVE Secure development practices Understanding of common application, cloud or infrastructure security vulnerabilities, and bug hunting experience AWS or other cloud providers, including services such as RDS and Elasticache Kubernetes, Terraform and Docker Networking concepts (DNS, TCP) and network engineering Design and UX experience Redux experience WHAT’S IN IT FOR ME?
