Full Stack Engineer

Job Title: Full Stack Developer - Senior

Location: Edmonton, Alberta (Remote with occasional in-person meetings)

Duration: 12+ months (possible 24-month extension)

The Role:

The Government of Alberta is seeking 26 Full Stack Developers to join the Digital Design & Delivery Division (3D) on service innovation and digital transformation projects. You'll work in agile, cross-functional teams to deliver user-centric services for Albertans.

Must-Have Skills (5+ years):

• Full Stack development on complex software solutions in an agile team environment
• Source control using Git in collaborative development
• Production applications using modern frameworks & frontend JS frameworks (Angular, React, Vue.js)
• Automated unit testing & integration testing (3+ years)
• Database technologies (relational & alternatives) (3+ years)

Nice-to-Have:

• Legacy system transformation
• Backend: C# .Net Core, Node.js (NestJS/Express), Python (Django)
• Design patterns & software architecture
• CI/CD pipelines
• UX/service design & human-centered design approaches
• GoA development guidelines

Scope:

• Full-time (7.25 hrs/day), across 2-3 projects
• Primarily remote (must work within Canada)
• Travel within AB for field research possible
• Security clearance required (including potential Enhanced Security Clearance for Justice projects)
