At Try and Review, we are building platforms that empower consumers to share authentic product experiences across our digital ecosystem (web, mobile app, and SaaS platform). As our user base grows, our engineering team tackles complex challenges in scaling, data delivery, and user experience.

The Role

We are looking for a highly capable Part-Time Fullstack Engineer (20-30 hours per week) to join our fully remote team on a 1-year renewable contract, with the possibility of extension based on business needs. You will work extensively with PHP Symfony while integrating modern technologies like Go, Vue, and React. Working closely with our Tech Project Manager and QA team, you will build and scale our core platform, champion code quality, and optimize our AWS infrastructure.

What You Will Do

• Design & Build: Develop robust, scalable features across our stack, ensuring high performance and responsiveness based on specs provided by the Tech PM.
• Ensure Quality: Champion code quality by implementing unit tests, participating in code reviews, and maintaining clean architecture.
• Collaborate: Work within our distributed team (using tracking and project management tools like GitHub, ClickUp, Jira, or similar tools) alongside the Tech PM, QA Engineer, and other developers to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Propose & Innovate: Actively identify areas for improvement in our codebase, tech stack, and infrastructure, proposing practical solutions that scale.

What You Bring

• Experience: 4+ years of professional experience as a Fullstack or Backend-leaning Software Engineer.
• Core Stack: Strong proficiency in PHP Symfony.
• Broader Tech Chops: Solid experience with standard modern stacks, specifically Go and Vue.js / React.
• DevOps & AWS (Highly Preferred): Hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure.
• Infrastructure Optimization (Highly Preferred): Experience running cost optimization projects, managing server migrations, or implementing monitoring/alerting systems.
• Security (Highly Preferred): Familiarity with maintaining and optimizing firewall rules (WAF).
• Foundational Competence: You know how to code from scratch. You understand the underlying fundamentals of software engineering that existed long before the AI era.
• AI-Augmented Workflow: You actively use AI dev tools (Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) to boost your productivity. Crucially, you do not rely on them blindly; you are able to critically review, verify, and adapt AI suggestions.
