Full Stack Engineer

Umain is a leading product and technology company expanding in the U.S. market. We're seeking an experienced Full-Stack Engineer to join our product and technology group in Chicago.

At Umain, you'll be a key member of cross-functional teams that design, develop, and maintain secure, high-performing web applications, from architecture decisions through delivery. This full time role is based in Chicago at our West Loop office. As part of Umain's expanding U.S. footprint, you'll help establish our reputation for engineering excellence, strategy, and delivery in the American market. You must be in Chicago or willing to relocate to be considered for this role as we require a minimum of 3 days in-office per week. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

Client & Team Leadership

• Partner with clients and cross-functional teams to understand requirements, define solutions and deliver with confidence.

• Navigate complexity and ambiguity, and explain technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

• Champion engineering best practices, including test-driven development, component-driven design, and clean architecture.

• Help shape Umain's growing U.S. engineering culture and standards.

Development & Architecture

• Design and build scalable, secure web applications with TypeScript, React and Next.js (App Router).

• Develop robust backend services and APIs with Node.js and NestJS.

• Build consistent, reusable UI components using Storybook and design system principles.

• Work across core GCP services, including Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow and IAM.

• Manage infrastructure as code with Terraform, and build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling.

Who you are

• 6+ years of professional full-stack engineering experience with deep command of the modern web stack: TypeScript, React/Next.js, Node.js and strong HTML, CSS and JavaScript fundamentals.

• Solid grasp of state management and API integration patterns.

• Comfortable owning work end to end, from architecture through deployment.

• A collaborative engineer with a client-focused mindset and strong consulting instincts.

• Curious, growth-oriented and energized by complex problems and high-quality delivery.

Compensation: $135,000.00-$165,000.00 USD annually based on experience
