Show job description

At e-conomic, we build the leading cloud-based accounting platform trusted every day by over 300 000 businesses to keep their finances accurate, streamlined, and compliant.

Within our Accounting Automation value stream, you will join Team Apex, the engineering unit at the core of our accounting engine. Our mission is critical: delivering platform stability, managing high-volume transactional data and automating complex financial workflows. We work on a mature, business-critical platform where precision matters, and we are actively modernizing it - a great fit for engineers who enjoy improving real systems at scale and building new things, with AI tools as part of everyday work.

Why this role?

Team Apex sits at the absolute core of e-conomic: our system processes the mission-critical financial transactions that tens of thousands of businesses rely on every single day.

There is a lot ahead of us. We want to build both great user experience and handle huge amounts of data, and to do that we need more front-end muscle and someone who enjoys making busy backend and database run smoothly.

This role exists to bridge that gap. As a Full Stack Engineer, you will not just pick up tickets; you will be the technical catalyst who raises our team's delivery pace, balances our front-end and back-end capabilities, and mentors engineers to keep our core platform rock-solid and future-ready.

Your missions

On a day-to-day and sprint-to-sprint basis, you will:

  • Build full-stack product features: Ship end-to-end capabilities within the accounting domain, writing clean React on the front end and robust C# on the back end.

  • Optimize high-volume SQL data: Profile slow queries, optimize relational schemas, and resolve performance bottlenecks across heavy transactional tables.

  • Lead small feature pods: Autonomously run project tracks and pair with developers to drive design discussions and unblock technical dependencies.

  • Drive code quality & knowledge sharing: Review PRs, set new standards, pair program, and actively contribute to company-wide engineering guilds.

  • Participate in support duty rotations: Take turns in weekly support rotations to diagnose edge cases, investigate bugs, and handle cross-department inquiries.

The environment

  • The team setup: You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary group composed of 8 developers, 2 QA engineers. On project level, dedicated UX and Product Manager.

  • Hybrid working style: We spend 3 days a week together in our Copenhagen office for whiteboarding, architecture discussions, pair programming, and planning, but also for shared lunches, good chats, and a bit of fun along the way.

  • AI-first engineering mindset: Exploring and adopting modern AI coding tools is actively encouraged and integrated into daily work routines.

  • Tech stack: React, C# / .NET, large-scale relational databases (SQL), CI/CD pipelines, and modern SRE/cloud infrastructure interfaces.

What you bring

Need-to-have:

  • Proven hands-on experience building modern, responsive web applications using React.

  • Solid background in C# / .NET developing robust back-end systems.

  • Strong command of relational databases and SQL, including query optimization, data indexing, and schema design.

  • A collaborative mindset with clear, constructive communication and an appetite for mentoring peers.

  • Professional working proficiency in English.

Nice-to-have:

  • Prior experience with accounting software or other fintech systems

  • Exposure to Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices and modern cloud infrastructure interfaces.

  • Practical interest or experience in leveraging developer-focused AI tools and integrating AI features into enterprise applications.

Your e-conomic benefits

  • 🦋 Flexible Work Life: Adapt your work environment and hours to suit your lifestyle, with hybrid options available.

  • 🤧 Family First: Unlimited child sick days.

  • 🌍 Global Vibes: An international workplace with +30 nationalities.

  • 💆🏻‍♀️ Well-being: Access a range of services to support your physical and mental health.

  • 🏥 Security: Comprehensive health insurance and company-paid pension.

  • 👩‍💻 Tech Choice: Select your preferred gear, be it Mac or Windows.
