Full Stack Engineer – JavaScript / Node.js / TypeScript / Vue.js

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Full Stack Engineer who can design, build, and maintain scalable web applications using modern JavaScript/TypeScript technologies. The ideal candidate is comfortable working across the stack — from building responsive Vue.js front ends to architecting robust Node.js APIs — and can contribute to technical decisions in an agile, fast-paced environment.

In this role, you will

  • Design, develop, and maintain modern full stack web applications using Vue.js, Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
  • Build scalable, reusable, and high-performing frontend components while ensuring responsive and accessible user experiences.
  • Develop and enhance RESTful APIs and backend services using Node.js frameworks such as Express.js, NestJS, or Fastify.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions and contribute to architectural decisions.
  • Improve application performance, security, reliability, and scalability while supporting CI/CD and automated testing practices.

Work model

We strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a remote position open to qualified applicants in Canada. Regardless of your working arrangement, we are here to support a healthy work-life balance through our various wellbeing programs. The working arrangements for this role are accurate as of the date of posting. This may change based on the project you’re engaged in, as well as business and client requirements. Rest assured; we will always be clear about role expectations.

What you need to have to be considered:

  • Design, develop, and maintain full stack web applications using Vue.js, Node.js, and TypeScript.
  • Build reusable, performant, and well-tested UI components using Vue 3 (Composition API) / Vuex or Pinia for state management.
  • Develop and maintain RESTful APIs / GraphQL services using Node.js (Express, NestJS, or Fastify).
  • Write clean, maintainable, and strongly-typed code using TypeScript across both frontend and backend.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and QA to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and sprint planning.
  • Optimize application performance, scalability, and security.
  • Integrate with third-party APIs, databases (SQL/NoSQL), and cloud services.
  • Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests (Jest, Vitest, Cypress, or similar).
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues in a timely manner.
  • Participate in CI/CD pipeline setup and deployment processes.

These will help you stand out:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in full stack JavaScript development.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in Vue.js (Vue 2 and/or Vue 3), including Vue Router and state management (Vuex/Pinia).
  • Solid experience with Node.js and common frameworks (Express.js, NestJS, Fastify).
  • Strong command of TypeScript — types, interfaces, generics, and type-safe API contracts.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design principles.
  • Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs; familiarity with GraphQL is a plus.
  • Experience with relational (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and/or NoSQL (MongoDB) databases.
  • Familiarity with build tools (Vite, Webpack) and package managers (npm/yarn/pnpm).
  • Working knowledge of Git and collaborative development workflows.
  • Understanding of unit/integration testing frameworks (Jest, Vitest, Mocha, Cypress).
  • Exposure to CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps) and containerization (Docker).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in an agile team.

We're excited to meet people who share our mission and can make an impact in a variety of ways. Don't hesitate to apply, even if you only meet the minimum requirements listed. Think about your transferable experiences and unique skills that make you stand out as someone who can bring new and exciting things to this role
