Job Description - Roles and Responsibilities

• Our engineering team works closely with our functional experts to make European aviation safer and more efficient.
• Following SAFe/Agile methodology, we develop a wide variety of data-driven solutions that combine their operational expertise, our technical expertise and uniquely valuable European aviation data.

The Role:

• You will work as part of a development team, contributing your full-stack expertise to deliver features end to end, from user interface to backend services and data.
• Our solutions run mainly on Azure, deployed through Azure DevOps pipelines. Our current stack is Java and Spring Boot with React and TypeScript. AI-assisted development is part of how we work.
• We value demonstrated experience over familiarity with the concepts.

What You'll Do:

• Design and build back-end services and the web front-ends that use them.

• Integrate with other systems through well-defined contracts.

• Design and evolve the data model for each solution.

• Refine requirements with the Product Owner and functional experts and assess technical feasibility.

• Apply software engineering best practices: clean code, automated testing, continuous integration and deployment.

• Run your features in production: monitoring, alerting, incident response.

• Take part in design and code reviews.

What We're Looking For:

• 5+ years building production applications with Java / Spring Boot and React / TypeScript.

• Strong understanding of software design and enterprise integration patterns, and the judgement to pick the right one or keep it simple.

• You design and build interfaces that are clear, consistent and easy to use, even for applications with complex data.

• Experience with several architectural styles on both tiers.

• Hands-on Azure and Azure DevOps experience.

• Data modelling and database design skills. PostgreSQL and Oracle.

• Solid delivery practice: automated testing, quality gates, DevSecOps.

• Experience in SAFe/Agile teams.

• A proactive mindset to review requirements, challenge assumptions when necessary, and raise concerns regarding feasibility or clarity.

• Experience with AI-assisted development, including handling the problems it introduces.
