Full Stack Software Engineer

Description

Seeking a Full Stack Developer to serve as the technical lead for a critical servicing and renewals technology pod. This role combines hands-on software development, technical leadership, production application ownership, compliance delivery, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The successful candidate will lead a small pod consisting of one onshore lead (this role) and one offshore developer, supporting business-critical applications while driving operational efficiencies, automation, and engineering excellence. This is an ideal opportunity for a engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, improving existing systems, and influencing how technology teams operate at scale.

What You'll Do

- Lead a two-person engineering pod consisting of an onshore technical lead (this role) and an offshore developer.

- Develop, maintain, and enhance Java/Spring and Angular-based applications supporting servicing and renewals platforms.

- Provide ownership of KTLO (Keep the Lights On) activities, including application support, troubleshooting, and production incident resolution.

- Deliver compliance, security, and regulatory-driven enhancements.

- Remediate vulnerabilities, upgrade platforms, and manage dependency updates.

- Collaborate with offshore resources to plan, prioritize, and deliver sprint commitments.

- Analyze technical issues, identify root causes, and implement long-term solutions.

- Drive automation initiatives to reduce manual operational effort and improve engineering efficiency.

- Support ongoing modernization efforts, including migration of MuleSoft-based services to Spring-based architectures.

- Leverage AI-powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot to improve developer productivity and software quality.

- Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and architecture decisions.

- Balance short-term delivery requirements with long-term technical improvements.

Required Qualifications

- 5+ years of hands-on Java development experience.

- 5+ years of experience with Spring Framework / Spring Boot.

- 5+ years of experience with Angular development.

- Experience developing and supporting enterprise-grade web applications.

- Experience working in production support, application maintenance, and BAU environments.

- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis capabilities.

- Experience leading technical initiatives or coordinating work across development teams.

- Experience working within Agile delivery environments.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Proven ability to decompose complex problems and deliver pragmatic solutions.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90.00 - $90.00/hr.
