About Stepful:
Stepful is a workforce platform redefining how America's largest health systems build, train, and retain their talent. Since our founding in 2021, Stepful’s trained over 32,000 practice-ready healthcare workers.
Layering onto our successful direct-to-consumer training, Stepful partners with leading healthcare institutions to address the growing national shortage of healthcare workers. We’re improving access to quality healthcare for everyone, everywhere, and improving access to healthcare career ladders for those who need them most.
Our students form the talent pipelines for major employers such as NY-Presbyterian, Mt. Sinai, HCA, Providence, CVS, and Walgreens. We have partnerships with half of the top 10 health systems in the US and are in process with many more.
Stepful is backed by Y Combinator, Reach Capital, and AlleyCorp, with a recent $55M Series C led by Oak HC/FT. We were named the #1 EdTech company in the U.S. by TIME for 2025.
Our values:
We credit much of our success to our exceptional team. We’re looking for mission-driven builders who thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments, and embody our four core values:
Care first: We do whatever it takes for our students to succeed.
Learn quickly: We test, learn with data, and iterate.
Build together: We win when we rely on each other.
Own it: We show up, take initiative, and show pride.
The opportunity:
Stepful’s nursing programs are growing in Ohio, and we’re hiring a Full-Time Nurse Faculty member who wants to be part of building something from the ground up. This is a teaching-first role — covering didactic instruction, skills lab, and clinical rotations as needed for our Ohio practical nursing program — with a clinical coordination component that grows as the program scales and our Ohio footprint expands.
Right now, the teaching load is heavier. As we bring on more clinical instructors and add partner sites, the balance will shift — and you’ll have shaped how that growth happened. We’re excited for the right person to help us evolve this role over time.
You’ll report to the Program Director and work closely with our clinical partner sites, program leadership, and the instructors you’ll help develop and support as the program grows. This role requires travel to partner sites in Columbus and Toledo, and flexibility across weekdays and weekends as clinical rotations and skills labs are sometimes scheduled on weekends.
What you’ll do:
Teach across all three modalities, as needed
Deliver didactic instruction for our Ohio practical nursing program, virtually or in person
Lead skills lab sessions, ensuring students develop hands-on clinical competencies in a structured environment
Provide clinical instruction at partner sites in Columbus and Toledo, maintaining consistent presence to support student learning and meet program requirements
Be available for clinical rotations and skills labs on weekdays and weekends as the schedule requires
Support clinical instructors and sites (grows over time)
Visit clinical sites to observe and support 1099 clinical instructors, providing coaching and feedback
Serve as a point of contact for clinical instructors on questions, issues, and escalations
Assess site acuity and patient population to ensure clinical placements support program competencies
Own clinical site relationships and operations
Build and maintain working relationships with clinical site partners, including unit leadership and staff
Stay current with clinical site policies and procedures by attending agency-provided updates
Handle onboarding logistics for clinical instructors at each site — documentation, badging, computer access, and on-site introductions
Manage rotation scheduling and site assignments, keeping coverage confirmed and students notified of changes
Keep program leadership apprised of changes in clinical procedures, protocols, and site updates
What you'll bring:
Active, unrestricted compact (multistate) RN license, or eligibility to obtain one
Master’s degree in nursing (required for accreditation purposes)
Experience in at least one of the following: nursing didactic instruction or clinical instruction in a nursing education program
Current BLS/CPR certification (healthcare provider level)
Ability to meet clinical site health and immunization requirements, including required vaccinations and background screening
Flexibility to travel to partner sites in Columbus and Toledo, and to work weekdays and weekends as the schedule requires
Strong organizational skills and comfort managing schedules, documentation, and logistics
A relationship-oriented approach — this role succeeds on the strength of your working relationships with site staff, instructors, and students
Nice to have:
Experience in clinical coordination, affiliation agreements, or clinical site relationship management
Experience training, mentoring, or evaluating clinical instructors or preceptors
Interview Process:
Introductory call with Talent Acquisition team member
Interview with Hiring Manager
Take-Home Assignment
Virtual Assignment Review
Virtual Team Interviews
Benefits and Compensation:
Meaningful Equity Stake
Subsidized Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance plan options
401(k)
FSA, HSA and commuter benefits
Learning stipend
Open vacation policy, including:
Guidance of 15 days PTO annually
Stepful closed the last week of December
10 public holidays observed for 2026
The target base salary range for this opportunity is $85,000 - $95,000, and is part of a competitive total rewards package including equity and benefits. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, internal pay equity and other relevant business considerations.
