Role Description The Full-time Senior Tax AU Accountant will manage and review Australian tax compliance and preparation for a portfolio of clients, including individuals, partnerships, trusts, and corporations. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and reviewing tax returns, ensuring accurate and timely lodgments, and analyzing tax positions to identify risks and opportunities. The role involves preparing and reconciling financial statements, maintaining general ledgers, and supporting month-end and year-end closing activities. The Senior Tax AU Accountant will collaborate closely with client stakeholders, answer technical tax queries, stay updated on Australian tax legislation, and contribute to process improvements and best practices. This is a remote role, requiring proactive communication, strong time management, and the ability to deliver high-quality work with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
  • Strong Australian Tax and Tax Compliance expertise, including practical experience with relevant AU tax laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in Tax Preparation for various entities, with the ability to review complex tax returns and supporting schedules.
  • Solid Accounting fundamentals, including general ledger management and reconciliation skills.
  • Experience preparing and analyzing Financial Statements, with attention to accuracy and compliance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., CPA or equivalent) is an advantage.
  • Experience in an Australian public practice or accounting firm, preferably in a senior or supervisory capacity.
  • Advanced proficiency with accounting and tax software, along with strong spreadsheet skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities, with a commitment to integrity and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote environment, manage multiple deadlines, and collaborate with international clients and colleagues.
