About BHS SCADA Development

Every BHS corrugator is run by software: operators control and monitor hundreds of meters of machinery, process orders, react to alarms and track quality in real time. Today this is done by several generations of control systems. With the One Corrugator Control System (OCCS), we are bringing them together into one modular SCADA platform for all BHS corrugators and plant equipment, open to third-party machines, ready for data-driven and AI applications, and built to last for the next decade and beyond. Our international team in Spain, Germany and China is defining this platform right now, and the key technical decisions are still ahead of us.

Your Mission

As a Fullstack Software Engineer (m/f/x) in our new office in Málaga, you will help build the platform from the very beginning. You will work on everything from the connection to the machines to the screens our operators use every day, and you will help decide how the platform is built.

Your future responsibilities include

• developing our next-generation SCADA platform for the corrugated industry
• helping to shape its technical foundation, from evaluating established SCADA products to designing our own components, and taking part in deciding which way we go
• designing and building core platform functions: visualization, alarms & events, data historian, recipe and order handling
• connecting the platform to PLCs, BHS machines and third-party equipment via industrial protocols (e.g. OPC UA) and APIs
• integrating with ERP, MES and cloud services
• creating intuitive operator interfaces together with UX/UI designers, automation engineers and product management
• setting up automated testing, CI/CD and virtual commissioning to keep quality high from the start
• applying secure-by-design principles in an industrial (OT) environment
• working with colleagues in Spain, Germany and China, and supporting commissioning and troubleshooting on site
• occasional travel to our headquarters in Germany and to customer sites, potentially worldwide

Your professional and personal profile

• a degree in computer science, engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• at least 3 years of professional software development experience: we welcome mid-level developers with solid hands-on project experience as well as seasoned engineers
• strong C#/.NET and object-oriented design skills
• experience with web or desktop front-end technologies (e.g. Blazor, React or Angular) is a plus
• solid SQL and relational database knowledge; time-series data experience is a plus
• experience with automated testing, CI/CD and containerized deployments
• hands-on experience using AI tools in your daily development work (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Claude Code or Cursor), with a critical eye for the quality of the generated code
• industrial automation, SCADA/HMI or PLC communication experience (OPC UA, Modbus, S7 or similar) is a strong plus, but not required: you will build this knowledge with us
• awareness of industrial cybersecurity (e.g. IEC 62443) is beneficial
• a structured, quality-minded way of working and a passion for long-term platform architecture
• fluent English; Spanish is an advantage, German is a plus
