About the Company
We're an Australian financial services platform. We started by solving the hardest part of early-stage investing: helping sophisticated investors write small cheques in early-stage companies by grouping together and hitting the cap table as a single entry. We then created the product we wished we had, for ecosystem champions, to build communities of angel investors and bring them unique deal flow. Our mission: democratise early-stage investing. We empower emerging fund managers and investor communities to deploy capital into startups and private companies.
We started as a syndicate platform. Over the last ~2 years, we used our own Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL) to grow beyond that, and we're now focused on being the platform of choice for new fund managers to successfully raise, deploy, and manage their funds — whether that's an ESVCLP or a standard unit trust — giving them the skills and experience to accelerate their growth. Our platform covers the whole investing relationship: fund administration, trustee and compliance services, legal setup, LP onboarding, capital raising, and fund accounting, all under one account.
Our clients are high-net-worth wholesale investors, syndicate leads and fund managers who bring them strong deal flow, and the startup founders raising from them. We serve over 3,000 wholesale investors across Australia and New Zealand, plus investors in the US, Singapore, the UK, and beyond.
Giving back is part of our model: a portion of our returns goes back into the ecosystem through education, grants, and lobbying.
OUR VALUES
- 🤝 Integrity, Always: We hold people's money and their trust, and we protect both without exception.
- 🌱 Grow Together: We invest in people for the long run, not just the role.
- ⚡ Show Up: We're clear, fast, and communicative, even without all the answers.
- 🌏 Ecosystem First: We do what's good for the community, not just the next deal.
- 🔍 Sweat the Details: Close enough isn't good enough, so we get it right the first time.
We're a fully remote organization headquartered in Australia, with 7 teammates: two Co-Founders, a Head of Funds & Syndicates, a Head of Product, and three Senior Software Developers. Our team is spread across almost every major city in Australia.
Our CFO, who also serves as our Responsible Manager (RM), comes from large listed companies, and that shapes how we work: direct and to the point, but generous with time and always reachable, not just async in Slack. Feedback is quick here, and nobody's precious about giving or getting it. Our standards are high — this is financial services, and real people's money is on the line. The team has had to learn fast, and we're better for it, but nobody pretends to have it all figured out. People work independently at a high level, but nobody's on an island — the team is in constant contact throughout the day.
About the Role
We're looking for a remote Fund Administrator (Venture & Angel Investing) to own the operational and compliance backbone of our LP (Limited Partner) onboarding and investor management process.
In this role, you'll be the first line of review on investor documents and communications, then follow the deal through to signed and reconciled — making sure investors are verified correctly and nothing slips through.
This role exists because we've outgrown how we used to do this — we ran on little more than spreadsheets and automation scripts for our first few years, and volume has since outpaced it. Right now, leadership is absorbing the overflow, and since our rebrand, more sophisticated clients have pulled their time into legal and deal work instead. This isn't an Executive Assistant role or one about chasing admin docs — it's a role that grows with you as we build more automation into the platform, with real room to move into compliance support, process documentation, and higher-touch client engagement.
Our IDEAL CANDIDATE brings 3–5 years of experience in roles like Fund Administrator, Auditor, Accountant, Corporate Paralegal, or related, ideally in a regulated financial or legal environment — enough to work independently alongside a senior team without needing to be walked through every step. Right now, leadership is stretched thin, carrying a mental list of things left unfinished; you're the person who closes that gap, so there's room to grow instead of dread about what's next.
Reporting Structure: You'll be part of the CEO's front-facing team, serving LPs, syndicate leads, and fund managers. You'll collaborate with our Head of Funds & Syndicates and Co-Founder. This position reports directly to the Head of Funds & Syndicates.
You'll be doing things like:
- LP Communications & Inbox Triage: monitoring and triaging our LP and syndicate inboxes; flagging corporate actions and sending investor updates on a regular cadence to approved syndicates; routing queries to the right owner — resolving directly or assigning out; managing forwarded LP queries, including document attachment requests; pulling scattered fund-lead comms into our shared inbox platform (Groove)
- Investor Entity & Document Review: reviewing wholesale certificates against compliance checklists; checking investment entity documentation for correct fields and supporting docs; moving verified records to reviewed status and adding admin notes to investor profiles; following up with investors to request missing or incorrect information; clearing the existing backlog of unreviewed accounts while keeping pace with 100–200 new ones a month; monitoring the 2-year renewal cycle on wholesale certs and following up proactively before they lapse; investigating unresolved LP cases raised by syndicate leads, confirming onboarding status and investor-syndicate linkage
- Deal Closing & Reconciliation: generating investment schedules, pushing drafts for signature, and following up within set cadences until signed; checking bank transactions and confirming funds received against deals in closing; uploading transaction confirmations once deals complete; reconciling investor and investment records for each completed deal
- Compliance Support: resolving one-off LP requests that fall outside standard review and reconciliation workflows; issuing holding documents directly to clients on request; sending required documents to authorised representatives; flagging compliance concerns or irregularities for senior review
- Deal Tracking & WIP (Work in Progress) Coordination: attending weekly closing WIP meetings; taking notes and owning follow-up action items; tracking open deal status across the team; coordinating with the Head of Funds & Syndicates and CFO on open items arising from WIP
- Process Standardization & Improvement: helping build out SOPs, process improvements, and guidebooks as the role matures
Skills & Qualifications
- 3–5 years of prior experience in roles like Fund Administrator, Auditor, Accountant, Financial Services Operations Associate, Corporate Paralegal, or related, ideally in a regulated financial or legal environment
- Experience reviewing financial documentation and assessing compliance against a checklist without needing guidance on every case
- Experience working in regulated environments where accuracy and process integrity are non-negotiable
- Comfortable with basic accounting and reconciliation tasks, including work in a ledger tool
- Familiar with investor onboarding workflows, KYC processes, or document verification
- Exceptional written communication — clear, professional, and responsive across email and chat, with the flexibility to jump on a video call when needed
- Able to manage a high volume of structured tasks independently without losing accuracy or pace
- High attention to detail, consistently catching the thing that's slightly off
- Proactive and accountable — flags issues before being asked, and owns mistakes through to resolution
- Genuinely responsive, closing the loop rather than letting things sit
- Genuinely eager to learn — comfortable picking up new tools, processes, and domain knowledge on the job
- Collaborative and motivated by helping people get a good outcome, not just closing your own tasks
Bonus if you also have:
- Experience in fund administration or financial services operations specifically
- Familiarity with Australian wholesale investor requirements, ASIC compliance frameworks, or AFSL-regulated environments
- Experience working with high-net-worth individuals or institutional investors
- Exposure to the startup or venture capital ecosystem in ANZ or comparable markets
- Familiarity with our tools: Slack, Google Workspace, Groove, Xero, Annature, WhatsApp, Claude, Notion, and FrankieOne
