Fund Finance Manager – Luxembourg or Switzerland
Our Client is a growing private markets investment platform focused on Private Equity and Infrastructure, headquartered in Switzerland with two Luxembourg-domiciled alternative funds.
As the platform scales across multiple jurisdictions, the Company is seeking a hands-on Fund Finance Manager (first in-house finance person) to take ownership of financial accounting, reporting and controls across its funds and corporate entities, and to help build a modern, technology-enabled finance function.
This could be a fully flexible role, with the option of 100% remote work, provided the selected candidate’s permanent residence is based in Luxembourg or Switzerland
Your areas of responsibility:
- Take ownership of financial accounting and reporting for the Company's Private Equity and Infrastructure funds
- Review NAV calculations and underlying accounting prepared by external administrators, and take internal responsibility for their accuracy
- Manage and coordinate relationships with administrators, auditors, depositaries, banks, tax advisers and other service providers
- Lead annual and interim financial statement processes, fund-level cash management, reconciliations and fee calculations
- Oversee accounting for investment SPVs and holding structures
- Support accounting and reporting across corporate entities in Switzerland, Luxembourg and Liechtenstein, as well as Cayman and Delaware structures
- Establish consistent accounting policies, controls, data standards and reporting processes across the platform
- Drive the automation and integration of fund finance workflows, reducing manual processes
- Provide fund-level and corporate financial analysis to management and act as the internal point of expertise for fund finance
Your profile:
- 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in private markets fund finance (Private Equity, Infrastructure, Private Debt or Real Assets) at Senior Associate / AVP level, with flexibility for an exceptional candidate; strong Managers or selected VPs may also be considered
- Current or recent hands-on experience within a GP / alternative investment manager (audit, advisory or administrator-only backgrounds will not be sufficient)
- Big Four or BDO training in Asset Management / Private Markets, followed by an in-house move to a GP, is preferred
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and Luxembourg GAAP, with solid understanding of private fund accounting (NAV review, capital calls, distributions, fees, valuations, reconciliations); US GAAP and evergreen fund experience are a significant advantage
- Familiarity with Luxembourg structures such as RAIF, SCSp and SICAV
- Excellent Excel skills and a strong understanding of finance systems, data flows and controls
- Practical experience using AI and automation in finance (e.g. reconciliations, data extraction, reporting, control checks); Power BI, Alteryx, UiPath, Make, Zapier or Python/SQL is advantageous
- Independent, accountable and pragmatic, with the confidence to challenge external providers
- Strong project management skills and a process-builder mindset, with comfort working in an entrepreneurial environment
