SVP, Accounting Quality, Governance & Oversight – Real Assets
This role serves as the independent voice of accounting quality across the Real Assets platform, providing leadership with transparent insight into accounting quality, emerging risks, control effectiveness, and audit readiness.
The successful candidate will influence regional and functional leaders, challenge the status quo, drive accountability, and act as a catalyst for continuous improvement, governance excellence, and technical accounting leadership across the Real Assets ecosystem.
Responsibilities
Governance & Quality Leadership
- Own the Real Assets Accounting Quality Framework, governance model, and oversight agenda.
- Lead risk-based hot and cold reviews across NAVs, financial statements, and key accounting deliverables, identifying thematic observations, sharing insights across the Real Assets platform, and embedding sustainable improvements through knowledge transfer and best-practice adoption.
- Deliver executive insights on quality trends, control effectiveness, and emerging risks.
- Influence leadership teams to strengthen accountability, transparency, and quality-focused decision-making.
Risk, Controls & Assurance
- Oversee the effectiveness of the accounting control environment across the Real Assets platform.
- Drive proactive identification, assessment, and resolution of control and process risks.
- Lead the review of audit, regulatory, and operational findings, ensuring sustainable outcomes.
- Strengthen governance and control frameworks to support a scalable and resilient operating model.
Technical Accounting & Industry Leadership
- Provide independent oversight and challenge across complex fund, holding company, and SPV accounting matters, including financial reporting, consolidations, accounting judgments, regulatory requirements, and material transactions.
- Act as a trusted advisor to accounting leadership on technical and regulatory developments.
- Drive consistency in accounting interpretation, policy application, and reporting standards.
- Represent the organization in industry forums and technical working groups.
Talent, Capability & Culture
- Build and lead a Centre of Excellence for Accounting Quality, Governance, and Oversight.
- Develop technical capability through coaching, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Promote best practice adoption across regional and functional teams.
Transformation & Continuous Improvement
- Champion a prevention-first approach to accounting quality and related risk management.
- Partner with Operations, Technology, and Functional Leaders to enhance processes and controls.
- Leverage quality and audit insights to drive strategic improvement initiatives.
- Challenge established practices and promote innovation across the Real Assets accounting ecosystem.
Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CA or equivalent).
- 12+ years of experience within fund administration, asset management, financial services, public accounting, or alternative investment environments.
- Significant experience supporting Real Assets, Infrastructure, and multi-entity fund structures, including familiarity with UK REIT and UK QAHC structures.
- Strong technical knowledge of IFRS, Lux GAAP, UK GAAP, fund and SPV accounting, financial reporting, consolidations, complex accounting transactions, and multi-layered investment structures.
- Demonstrated experience in accounting oversight, financial reporting, governance, controls, audit, risk management, or quality assurance functions.
- Proven ability to identify risks, challenge accounting outcomes, assess control environments, and drive sustainable remediation and process improvement.
- Strong understanding of governance frameworks, internal controls, audit processes, and regulatory expectations within complex financial services organizations.
- Proven leadership and stakeholder management capabilities, with the ability to influence and drive alignment across matrix organizations and senior leadership teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills coupled with a proactive and prevention-focused mindset.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with clients, auditors, regulators, and senior stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Experience supporting complex Real Assets, Infrastructure, UK REIT, QAHC, and multi-jurisdictional investment structures.
- Prior experience in accounting oversight, governance, quality assurance, audit, controls, or risk management within fund administration, asset management, AIFM, or financial services environments.
- Strong understanding of investor reporting, capital activity, consolidations, and complex real asset fund structures.
- Experience leading governance, control enhancement, remediation, or operational improvement initiatives.
- Proficiency with industry platforms such as Yardi, Investran, Workiva, eFront, or similar fund accounting and financial reporting systems.
- Preference will be given to candidates currently based in Luxembourg or elsewhere in the EU/UK, with relevant Real Assets accounting experience and the ability to work in Luxembourg
