Show job description

We are a profitable, mission-driven fintech company building financial solutions for people whose needs go unmet by traditional institutions – people with disabilities, older adults, and people in recovery, and the families and professionals who care for them. We get to wake up every day knowing our work has a profound impact on our customers' lives, and we run the business with the discipline to keep doing it for the long haul. That track record has earned us a spot on the Forbes Fintech 50 and the Inc. 5000 list of America's fastest-growing companies for the last two years.

At True Link, our clients rely on us to deliver reliable, secure, and thoughtful support for critical financial functions. As a Fund Operations Associate - Custody, you'll play an essential role in making that happen every day.

You'll own the daily disbursement and payment processing pipeline for our pooled trusts: funding disbursements, processing ACH and NACHA files, inputting wires, and handling expedited payment requests. The work runs on firm daily cutoffs and is supported by a layered review process, so accuracy and consistency matter more than speed alone. This is a collaborative role where you'll work across teams to support our mission and help improve the financial lives of the people who count on us.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare and reconcile daily disbursement funding ahead of morning cutoffs

  • Process daily payment files and wire transfers across multiple banking partners, and keep delivery statuses accurate

  • Handle expedited and exception requests, including same-day payments, stop payments, and redeposits, with clear tracking

  • Review daily bank reconciliation summaries and resolve errored items

  • Calculate and assess weekly fees for an assigned group of organizations

  • Action stop payment and redeposit requests with our banking partners and log them for tracking

  • Act with urgency to resolve processing issues, escalating to internal and external stakeholders when needed

  • Partner with internal teams to keep daily operations on schedule

  • Identify and recommend workflow improvements that increase efficiency and reduce risk

  • Support ad-hoc projects as needed across the team

Who You Are

  • 1-2 years of experience in custody, trust, investment, banking, or payments operations, ideally within a financial services firm

  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with a strong ability to manage and reconcile financial data accurately and efficiently

  • Familiar with ACH, wires, and check processing; NACHA file experience is a plus

  • Strong analytical problem-solver who proactively identifies issues and works toward effective solutions

  • Well-versed in the importance of fraud prevention and have experience working within environments that emphasize internal controls and compliance

  • Comfortable navigating multiple tech platforms and systems, including banking portals and Excel or Google Sheets (intermediate proficiency preferred); comfortable running scripted or automated tools and checking their output

  • Effective communicator, able to clearly and professionally interact with internal teams, external partners, and occasionally with clients

  • Deadline and process driven, and are able to adapt quickly to evolving priorities; you thrive in this type of environment

  • Self-motivated, take ownership of your work, and value contributing to a collaborative, mission-driven team

  • Guided by sound judgement when escalating and resolving problems independently

Why You'll Love Us

  • We’ve got the energy and passion of a startup combined with the professionalism of a financial services firm and the compassion of a mission-driven organization that truly cares about each other and the people we serve.

  • With fifty million Americans in our addressable market, we are catering to tons of people who need our products and services across the country - and we’ve got the potential to reach many more.

  • Our customers are not only grateful for our services but are the absolute best. We have the privilege of providing financial protection for vulnerable members of society and partnering with expert service providers to do so. Our customers and partners love us, and we love them back. You can sleep soundly every night knowing you are doing a really wonderful thing by getting our services into more hands.

  • We treat one another like we treat our customers: with respect and dignity. Diversity, equity, and inclusion are cultural values we take very seriously, and we welcome and recruit team members of all backgrounds and identities.

  • We offer competitive wages, health, dental and vision coverage, paid parental leave, 12 paid holidays each year, your own professional development budget, and an awesome vacation package.

  • We like to have fun together! The majority of us work from home from all across the US, and we enjoy connecting virtually for laughs with teammates, and appearances of kiddos and furry friends over Zoom. We also meet up in-person: we have small offices in San Francisco and in Kingston NY, and we also love our in-person team get-togethers around the country.

If you are a high-performing person who wants to join a diverse, inclusive team and use your skills to make a real impact in people’s lives, we invite you to apply to join our team.
