Fundraising internship

Supervisor: Financial Manager / Controller

Period: Spring 2027, 12-16 weeks

Workload: Full-time

Location: Remote (Sweden only) or hybrid (Uppsala or Sala)

• Context: As EU and Nordic funding priorities evolve, CCB is exploring new ways to broaden and strengthen its funding base, to secure long-term support for its 28 Member Organisations and the implementation of its strategic plan. This internship supports that work.
• Objective: The intern learns how a network NGO is funded and how donors work, through guided tasks. The intern analyses CCB's current funding sources and trends in EU and Nordic NGO funding, and brings the work together in a funding diversification proposal.
• Main Activities:
• Analyse CCB's current funding sources, using information CCB provides, and identify the main gaps and risks;
• Set up a simple funding register and funder cycle;
• Map the funding routes CCB has identified and suggest new ones based on similar NGOs and EU and Nordic funding trends;
• Study selected routes in depth and prepare a practical output, for example a template or concept note;
• Research and assess new funders and calls that fit CCB, and shortlist the most relevant;
• Contribute to a draft fundraising plan for a specific CCB project, linked to CCB’s strategic plan;
• (Optional) Practice drafting an application, only if a real call fits the timing.

• Final Outputs:

1. Funding diversification proposal for CCB

2. Final presentation to the Secretariat

• Background of Intern: finance, economics, environmental studies, development, communication or similar, with an interest in NGO work and the Baltic Sea.
