Fundraising Officer

Kloop Media Polska is looking for a Fundraising Officer to secure funding for Kloop and its network of independent media partners in Central Asia and beyond.

This is a remote position, but applicants must currently reside in Ukraine, Moldova, Armenia or Georgia. Unfortunately, we cannot consider candidates living outside these four countries.

About the role

The Fundraising Officer will find funding opportunities, prepare strong applications and build relationships with potential donors. They will work closely with Kloop’s management, as well as with partner media organizations across different countries.

Key responsibilities

• Research and identify relevant funding opportunities;
• Identify and approach potential donors and other funding partners;
• Build and maintain relationships with prospective donors;
• Develop grant proposals, budgets and other application materials;
• Coordinate applications.

Essential requirements

Candidates must:

• Have demonstrated experience raising funds from donors for media outlets or non-governmental organizations;
• Currently reside in Ukraine, Moldova, Armenia or Georgia;
• Have a very good command of English, including the ability to write clear and persuasive funding proposals;
• Have a good working command of Russian;
• Be able to manage several applications and deadlines simultaneously;
• Be comfortable working remotely with teams based in different countries.

Experience working with independent media would be an advantage.

Kloop is an independent media organization founded in Kyrgyzstan. Following years of pressure from the Kyrgyz authorities and the designation as extremists in Kyrgyzstan, our newsroom now operates in exile in Poland through Kloop Media Polska. Alongside producing journalism, we cooperate with and support a wider network of independent media organizations from Central Asia and beyond.
