The RoleWe are looking for a Game Level Designer / Systems Planner to help shape gameplay environments, player progression, game mechanics, and interactive systems. This role combines creative level design with structured systems planning, requiring a strong understanding of player behavior, game balance, progression, and overall gameplay flow.
You will work closely with game designers, developers, artists, producers, and other stakeholders to transform concepts into engaging, intuitive, and scalable gameplay experiences.
Key Responsibilities- Design and plan game levels, environments, missions, encounters, objectives, and player journeys.
- Develop gameplay systems, progression structures, rules, mechanics, rewards, and player interaction models.
- Create level layouts, flow diagrams, design documentation, gameplay specifications, and system frameworks.
- Analyze pacing, difficulty, player engagement, progression, and overall game balance.
- Collaborate with programmers, artists, UI/UX designers, writers, and producers throughout development.
- Prototype gameplay concepts and iterate designs based on testing, feedback, and player data.
- Define difficulty curves, progression milestones, rewards, resources, and gameplay loops.
- Identify bottlenecks, usability issues, balance problems, and opportunities to improve player experience.
- Support playtesting sessions and translate feedback into practical design improvements.
- Maintain organized design documentation and communicate requirements clearly to development teams.
- Monitor industry trends, emerging gameplay patterns, and successful game design practices.
- Contribute to continuous improvements in design processes, systems, and production workflows.
- 3+ years of professional experience in game design, level design, systems design, gameplay design, or a related field.
- Bachelorโs degree or equivalent qualification in game design, computer science, interactive media, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Strong understanding of level design principles, gameplay loops, player progression, mechanics, and game balance.
- Experience creating gameplay specifications, flowcharts, prototypes, design documents, or system frameworks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a balance of creative and structured thinking.
- Ability to understand player behavior and use playtesting or data to improve game experiences.
- Familiarity with game engines, level editors, prototyping tools, or design documentation platforms.
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple design priorities and work effectively in a remote environment.
- Professional certifications are not required unless specifically requested.
- Strong English communication skills.
