Location: Dubai / London / Remote | Engagement: Full-time or contract | Experience: 3+ years preferred | Reports to: Product / Growth Leadership
Own the design and continuous optimisation of Kognitiv Academy’s engagement systems: XP, Koins, achievements, challenges, streaks, progression and skill signals. Design for real learning behaviour and sustained participation, not vanity engagement.
What you will own
Define a coherent learner motivation framework tied to enrolment, attendance, progression and completion.
Shape XP earning rules, Koins-related user journeys, badges, quests, challenges, streaks and leaderboards.
Collaborate with product and engineering on transparent rules, anti-abuse controls and useful analytics.
Create engagement campaigns for learners, faculty, communities and referral programmes.
Design skill progress displays and achievement logic grounded in authentic learning outcomes.
Run A/B tests and cohort reviews to improve retention and learning participation.
Balance reward attractiveness, unit economics, accessibility and fairness.
Required experience and capabilities
3+ years in gamification, product engagement, behavioural design, loyalty or growth-oriented product roles.
Evidence of designing systems with measurable adoption or retention outcomes.
Strong analytics and experimentation literacy, plus clear journey mapping.
Ability to collaborate with UX, engineering, learning and commercial teams.
Nice to have
Edtech, gaming economy or loyalty programme experience.
Understanding of motivation theory, habit design and anti-gaming mechanisms.
Familiarity with tokenised or verifiable achievements.
First 90 days
Audit current XP, Koins, badges and learner journeys for gaps and loopholes.
Deliver an engagement-system blueprint, metric taxonomy and prioritised experiments.
Launch at least one measurable challenge or progression improvement.
Success measures
Activation, weekly active learners, repeat attendance and course completion.
Challenge participation, reward redemption and retention by cohort.
Low abuse rates and sustainable rewards cost.
Application: Please share a CV/profile, a short note on relevant experience and examples of work or projects where appropriate.
