Our international partner is looking for an experienced GL Accountant to join its Budapest-based finance team and support accounting and reporting activities for multiple legal entities across the EMEA region. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a complex international environment and would like to further develop their expertise in US GAAP reporting and end-to-end accounting processes.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing and reporting activities for a portfolio of EMEA legal entities in line with US GAAP and group requirements.
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, trial balances, journal entries, and variance analyses, ensuring accurate and audit-ready financial records.
- Support internal and external audits, tax provisioning, statutory reporting, and other local compliance-related activities.
- Maintain accurate accounting records in SAP and use reporting and reconciliation tools such as BlackLine as part of day-to-day closing activities.
- Work closely with regional and global stakeholders across Finance while contributing to process improvement and automation initiatives.
What we are looking for:
- 4 years of relevant accounting experience, with solid hands-on exposure to GL/accounting and financial close processes.
- Practical experience with US GAAP and SAP and/or BlackLine.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to quickly understand complex accounting processes and manage multiple priorities.
- Fluent English, with confident communication skills and a proactive, collaborative attitude when working with international stakeholders.
