Build the foundation for a successful career in geotechnical engineering with a great team. When we say we’re full-service, we mean it. You’ll find us in the office, on site, and in the lab. We work in and outdoors, above and below ground, over and under water, on projects large and small. From field exploration and lab testing to designing and managing the construction of complex geotechnical structures, our team does rock-solid work.
Join our team and discover the opportunities that await.
Your opportunity:
We are looking for a Geotechnical Engineer-In-Training (EIT) to join our geotechnical engineering team based in Burnaby, BC.
The successful candidate will work closely with a local team of 40 geotechnical staff in Burnaby, supported by a wider, regional team of over 200 geotechnical staff. Our team supports all stages of project delivery with technical expertise in seismicity, transportation and infrastructure, dams, trenchless technologies, rock engineering, and geohazards and geomorphology. Join a diverse group of engineers, geoscientists, project managers, and technicians, and help shape the future of the communities where we live, work, and play.
- Shape Your Career: We’re committed to helping you develop your skills, find your direction, and achieve your professional goals. Your responsibilities may vary based on your interests and skillset.
- Technical Development: Apply your growing expertise and perform geotechnical engineering analyses while learning from experienced engineers. Use engineering judgement to prepare high-quality deliverables, including geotechnical reports and memoranda.
- Escape the Office: Opportunity to conduct a variety of field work, including geotechnical site investigations and construction field reviews with possibility of travel for projects as needed.

- Innovative Environment: Contribute to forward-thinking projects using a variety of tools, such as advanced modelling software, drones, and AI-integrated solutions. Help identify areas for improvement and bring fresh ideas to enhance technical processes and project outcomes.
What we offer:

- Flexibility to work in varying locations and hours.
Essential qualifications:

- 0-4 years of experience in geotechnical engineering or related services (new graduates are encouraged to apply).
- Eligible to register (or already registered) as an Engineer-In-Training with EGBC
