The Role

We are seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineering Manager / Ground Engineering Director to provide technical leadership across geotechnical and ground-engineering activities. The role will support investigation, analysis, design, risk management, and project delivery while coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering teams, clients, consultants, and contractors.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge with leadership and project-management capabilities and can translate complex ground conditions into practical engineering recommendations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee geotechnical and ground-engineering activities across assigned projects.
  • Develop technical approaches for site investigation, ground assessment, analysis, and design.
  • Review geotechnical investigation reports, laboratory results, geological information, and ground-condition data.
  • Provide technical guidance on foundations, retaining systems, slopes, excavations, earthworks, and ground improvement.
  • Review and approve geotechnical calculations, designs, specifications, and technical reports.
  • Assess geotechnical risks and develop practical mitigation and monitoring strategies.
  • Coordinate with structural, civil, environmental, architectural, and other engineering disciplines.
  • Support project planning, technical proposals, budgets, schedules, and resource requirements.
  • Review contractor submissions, method statements, technical proposals, and geotechnical documentation.
  • Monitor technical quality, project deliverables, design changes, and engineering risks.
  • Communicate technical findings and recommendations to clients, project teams, and senior stakeholders.
  • Support construction-phase technical queries, inspections, and engineering assessments where required.
  • Manage external consultants, specialist contractors, laboratories, and investigation providers.
  • Maintain clear technical documentation, calculations, reports, records, and project correspondence.
  • Identify opportunities to improve engineering methods, technical standards, and project delivery processes.
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing, technical mentoring, and development of engineering best practices.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of professional experience in geotechnical engineering, ground engineering, civil engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree or equivalent qualification in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Strong understanding of soil and rock mechanics, site investigation, foundation engineering, earthworks, and ground conditions.
  • Experience with geotechnical analysis, engineering calculations, technical reporting, and design review.
  • Familiarity with relevant geotechnical standards, codes, and engineering practices.
  • Experience with geotechnical software and analytical tools is preferred.
  • Strong technical leadership, project-management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to evaluate complex engineering information and communicate practical recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to engineering quality and safety.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary and international teams.
  • Professional engineering registration or certifications are not required unless specifically relevant to the project.
