You may have been part of some big projects before, but this work is legacy-building.

You have the opportunity to gain a wealth of expertise and a diverse range of skills, providing insight and knowledge without losing sight of your work-life balance or wellbeing.

In this role, you'll:

Work as a Geotechnical Scientist within the Pavements & Geotechnical Services unit of Transport for NSW’s Technical Design & Engineering Division. Reporting to the Pavements and Geotechnical Manager, you'll conduct investigations, analyses, and provide advice specifically on geotechnical, pavements, and materials aspects for infrastructure projects. You'll support projects, provide technical services, participate in multi-function teams, and manage geotechnical risk by developing standards and practices. Adaptability across multiple work streams is essential.

This is a Permanent Full-time opportunity substantively based in the Parkes Regional Engineering office (with alternative offices available).

About you

You hold a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology or a related discipline and are eager to work in the West Region. You excel in preparing detailed geotechnical reports, providing specialist advice, and effectively managing technical risk, demonstrating a deep understanding of industry standards.

You can plan and lead geotechnical investigations in various conditions and work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams. Knowledge of WHS and environmental requirements for geotechnical fieldwork is crucial.
