About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated DevOps Engineer (m/w/d) to join an experienced, close-knit nine-person team within our Managed Services / Cloud and Platform Engineering department. In this role, you will help design, scale, and secure complex multi-cloud and containerized environments for our clients, driving automation and reliability across modern infrastructures.
Key Responsibilities
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Automate the provisioning of new system environments across Microsoft Azure, AWS, and T Cloud Public using Terraform to minimize manual configuration.
- Container Orchestration: Operate, maintain, and continuously improve Kubernetes-based container platforms—specifically OKD/OpenShift—along with Docker and deployed applications.
- System Optimization: Optimize multi-cloud and system landscapes with a strong focus on high availability, performance, scalability, and security.
- Deployments & Releases: Plan and execute reliable deployments, updates, and releases with minimal impact on ongoing operations.
- Incident Management: Analyze and troubleshoot complex cloud and platform issues collaboratively with your team to deliver sustainable solutions.
- Collaboration & Standards: Work closely with software development teams to ensure applications are secure, stable, and efficient from day one; help establish cross-platform automation and monitoring standards.
- Documentation & On-Call: Document system landscapes and deployment processes thoroughly. After your onboarding period, participate in a paid on-call rotation (Rufbereitschaft) and shift duties up to 6:00 PM.
What We Are Looking For (Must-Haves)
- Experience: At least 3 years of professional hands-on experience in a DevOps, Cloud, or Platform Engineering role.
- Container Expertise: Proven practical experience with Kubernetes-based container platforms, specifically OKD/OpenShift, and Docker.
- IaC Skills: Solid, hands-on experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code.
- Cloud Platforms: Practical experience with at least one major cloud platform (Microsoft Azure, AWS, or T Cloud Public).
- Tooling: Familiarity with Git, modern CI/CD pipelines, and deployment processes.
- Language Skills: Advanced fluency in German (C1 level required) for clear technical communication and team collaboration.
- Location / Work Model: Ability to work from our Osnabrück office for the required 2 on-site days per week.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Automation experience with Ansible or comparable tools.
- Exposure to multi-cloud or hybrid environments.
- Scripting or programming skills in PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Relevant cloud or platform certifications (e.g., Azure, AWS, Kubernetes/OpenShift) or the readiness to acquire them with our support.
- A background in IT (degree in Computer Science/Business Informatics or completed IT apprenticeship/Fachinformatiker).
What We Offer
- Modern Tech Stack: Work with cutting-edge multi-cloud environments including Azure, AWS, T Cloud Public, Kubernetes/OKD, and Terraform.
- Work-Life Balance: A hybrid work model (2 days on-site, 3 days remote), flexible working hours, a dog- and family-friendly culture, and emergency child care support.
- Growth & Mentorship: Structured onboarding, a supportive 9-person team for rapid knowledge transfer, and fully sponsored certifications and continuous learning paths.
- Compensation & Perks: Competitive base compensation of up to €70,000, Hansefit corporate fitness membership, team events, and a shared team breakfast.
- Stability: The backing and security of an established, growing digital organization with a 25-year history of success.
