About the Organization

Founded by the city in 2020, our organization acts as the client representative (Bauherrenvertretung) managing pivotal urban infrastructure projects in building and civil engineering. With a dedicated team of around 50 professionals, we are committed to sustainable urban development in an environment that fosters responsibility, encourages initiative, and supports continuous professional growth.

Because our projects are located in the immediate vicinity of our office, we ensure short distances, streamlined coordination, and regular on-site presence. We are currently playing a key technical role in the construction, modernization, and rehabilitation of regional river bridges, including the prominent Kurt-Schumacher-Strombrücke.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Oversight: Prepare, coordinate, and oversee planning and construction measures for the Kurt-Schumacher-Strombrücke.
  • Refurbishment & Strengthening: Contribute to the planning and execution of structural refurbishment and upgrading measures.
  • Tendering & Documentation: Review and align planning documents, bills of quantities (BoQs), and tender packages; support procurement procedures in coordination with relevant departments.
  • Controlling & Reporting: Monitor project timelines, costs, and milestones, and compile regular status reports.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate and steer external engineering consultants, structural experts, and contractors throughout planning and construction.
  • Client-Side Representation: Provide technical and organizational alignment on the client side, resolving challenges with pragmatic, solution-driven approaches.

What We Are Looking For

Must-Haves

  • Education: Master's or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (structural engineering / konstruktiver Ingenieurbau focus or equivalent).
  • Experience: At least 2 to 3 years of professional experience in structural engineering or bridge/infrastructure projects.
  • Language Proficiency: Native-level German language skills (C2).
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong familiarity with applicable German construction standards, regulations, and project management methodologies.
  • Core Competencies: Strong analytical capabilities, structured and solution-oriented working style, negotiation strength, and a passion for interdisciplinary teamwork.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Direct experience in bridge construction, specifically rehabilitation and structural strengthening.
  • Background in client-side project management for public infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with public procurement and contract management frameworks (such as VOB/HOAI in Germany).

What We Offer

  • Meaningful Impact: Take ownership on the client side for a high-profile, socially significant regional infrastructure project.
  • Long-Term Stability: A permanent, secure contract within a stable municipal project organization.
  • Competitive Compensation: Base salary between €55,000 and €65,000, complemented by an employer contribution to company pension schemes (nearly a full monthly salary annually).
  • Work-Life Balance: 30 vacation days, additional special leave, and flexible family-friendly working hours (core hours apply) with hybrid remote work options.
  • Mobility Perks: Deutschlandticket subsidy, bike leasing, discounted parking, and shared pool vehicles.
  • Professional Development: Comprehensive training opportunities, structured onboarding supported by a personal buddy, and talent programs in a collaborative, close-knit team environment.
