Verisk is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive General Ledger Accountant to join our Corporate Finance team in Kraków. You will collaborate with finance teams across the US and globally, supporting month-end close, financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, and SOX compliance . This role offers the opportunity to gain broad exposure to corporate accounting operations, work in a global environment, and contribute to process improvement initiatives . Prepare, review, and post journal entries in line with US GAAP, company policies, and accounting procedures. Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, ensuring accurate and timely reporting. Perform accounting activities covering accruals, prepaid expenses, allocations, fixed assets, intercompany transactions, and balance sheet reconciliations. Analyze financial data, investigate variances and discrepancies, and resolve accounting issues in a timely manner. Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring outstanding items are appropriately followed up and cleared. Ensure compliance with US GAAP, internal controls, and SOX requirements, including timely execution and documentation of assigned controls. Support internal and external audits by providing financial analysis, documentation, and explanations. Partner with business units and Finance stakeholders to address accounting queries and provide high-quality support. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, data quality, efficiency, and controls. Contribute to automation, standardization, system implementations, knowledge transfers, and other Finance transformation initiatives. Maintain clear and up-to-date process documentation and support special projects as required. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field. At least 3 years of experience in General Ledger accounting, Record-to-Report (R2R), Corporate Accounting, or a similar role. Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. Advanced English proficiency, both written and spoken. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Experience working with ERP systems; experience with Oracle Fusion is preferred. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills. Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
