What You'll Do:
As GL Accountant Payroll, you'll report to the Accounting Team Lead, and play a key role in ensuring payroll activity is accurately and completely reflected in the general ledger across all countries in your scope. As part of this, you'll drive your part of the monthly close process, including journal entries, accruals, and full reconciliation between HR data and our ERP.
You'll ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time, with the support of your Manager who will run regular 1:1s with you. Getting the fundamentals right matters to us, and you'll be expected to bring both rigor and a positive energy in your daily tasks and dynamic closing periods.
This role operates in a SOX-compliant environment, and you will be expected to deliver your SOX controls on time and to the required standard of quality.
You'll work closely with People teams across multiple countries, developing a solid understanding of local payroll specifics and becoming a trusted accounting partner to HR, as well as with the broader accounting and controllership team, FP&A, and other finance stakeholders. A key part of the role also involves standardizing and improving how payroll integrates into our financial statements globally.
We're also migrating from SAP to Oracle Cloud ERP, and in this role will have the opportunity to contribute to how payroll accounting is designed in our future system — a good fit for someone who takes pride in running a tight process and is genuinely curious about technology and automation.
Perimeter included in your scope will be a bunch of countries amongst all regions we are present in : Americas, EMEA and APAC. And may evolve following the increase of Criteo Group worldwide.
Your tasks will include:
· Daily :
· Control of payroll proposals addressed by external payroll provider
· Preparation of HR accruals including bonus, and holiday pay
· Follow up and accounting for all impacts related to the exercise of stock options and RSU by our employees
· Sanity check on payroll and associated items
· Prepare cash landing and cash forecast processes
· Month end closing :
· Review of all payroll journals
· Recording of all accounting entries relating to bonus and vacation pay accruals
· Full reconciliation and documentation of both Balance Sheet and P&L positions related to payroll
· Analysis of movements in all payroll related balance sheet accounts
· Preparation of SOX controls
· Analysis and understanding of all major variances in social charge ratios
· Follow up on prior month points raised to People Department
· Relationship with auditors:
· Preparation of all PBC payroll related requests and their appropriate analysis on a quarterly and yearly basis.
· Other ad-hoc projects / tasks
· Migration from current payroll provider to ADP scheduled for FY27.
Who You Are:
· 5–7 years of practical accounting experience, including specialization in payroll accounting with a multinational scope
· Good working knowledge of SAP; Oracle Cloud ERP is a strong plus
· Experience working in a SOX environment
· Experience in a fast-moving, complex international environment
· Highly organized, autonomous, and results-driven
· Accounting qualification (ACCA, CA, or local accounting certification)
· Fluent English; any other language is a plus
· Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-player mindset
· A genuine interest in process excellence, with a strong desire to use AI and other technologies to automate work
· Strong Excel skills
We acknowledge that many candidates may not meet every single role requirement listed above. If your experience looks a little different from our requirements but you believe that you can still bring value to the role, we’d love to see your application!
