ABOUT ZOOMO

At Zoomo, our vision is to transition every commercial urban mile to light electric vehicles — to build cities that are quieter, cleaner and more equitable. We build the world's most durable utility e-bikes and the fleet software that keeps them on the road, and we service them through our own hubs.

Founded in Sydney in 2017, Zoomo now operates across Australia, the UK, Spain, France, Germany, Canada and the US, with a team of around 200 people from 45 nationalities. Our bikes and platform are the trusted fleet partner to major players in food, grocery and parcel delivery, including Uber Eats, DoorDash, Just Eat Takeaway, Deliveroo, Amazon, FedEx, Domino's, Pizza Hut, Glovo and Getir.

Expect to join a high-performing team that wants to lead the charge towards carbon-neutral cities — and a company that has gone from startup to multi-country operator faster than most. That transition is what this role is about.

THE ROLE

Madrid is our European hub, and this role keeps the day-to-day of People & Culture running across seven markets. You'll work on the part of HR where the detail is the job: payroll inputs that land on time, new Zoomers equipped before day one, visas that never lapse, and exits that stay orderly.

You'll work alongside the CEO, our country leads and our payroll partners — with plenty of room to grow into the parts of HR you haven't touched yet. If you like building the checklist rather than inheriting it, you'll be at home here.

Responsibilities

  • Recruitment support and interviews: coordinate interviews across seven time zones, keep our ATS clean, and make sure offers and contracts reach candidates without a chase.
  • Onboarding and offboarding: get new Zoomers paid, equipped, cleared and provisioned before day one — and close exits in the same week, with assets returned, access revoked and final pay correct.
  • Payroll groundwork and time & attendance: run the monthly payroll inputs and the shift timesheets behind them, so our hub teams are paid correctly and our payroll partners never have to guess.
  • Assets, accounts and employee support: keep laptops, tools, PPE and employee e-bikes tracked and returned, maintain the joiner/mover/leaver account matrix, and answer the questions Zoomers actually ask.
  • Work authorization and compliance: track visas and permits before they lapse, and keep contracts, working time and people data compliant in every market we operate in.
  • Process and policy support: keep our runbooks, templates and HR wiki current across seven markets, and support the HQ team in rolling out policy changes locally.

Must have

  • 2+ years in HR, with hands-on ownership of at least two of recruitment, onboarding, payroll or time & attendance
  • Fluent English, written and spoken, for work with overseas employees and partners
  • Excellent accuracy on repetitive, high-stakes work — payroll inputs, attendance, contracts
  • Strong prioritisation across competing market requests, and comfortable with international travel
  • Discretion with sensitive data, and sound judgement on what stays confidential

Nice to have

  • Multi-country or overseas-entity HR experience, or direct exposure to foreign-hire and visa processes
  • Confident with HRIS, ATS and spreadsheets, and used to automating a manual step
  • HR work through entity setup, M&A or post-merger integration
  • Working knowledge of Spanish, UK or German employment law and payroll practice
  • Direct management of EOR or local payroll providers
  • Experience with a shift-based, frontline-heavy workforce (retail, logistics, mobility)
  • Spanish, French or German, or a HR qualification / payroll qualification
  • Salary — €35,000 – €40,000 base, depending on experience
  • Zoomo e-bike - an employee bike to live and breathe the brand, plus a serious staff discount
  • Wellbeing - free, unlimited access to online mental health and wellbeing support
  • Flexibility - hybrid working, part-time flexibility where the role allows, and two weeks a year to work from anywhere
  • Social - regular events run by our Joy Division — pub nights, team drinks, wellness initiatives and more

Zoomers currently represent 45 nationalities and we celebrate diversity and inclusion with equal opportunities for all. If you need an adjustment at any stage of the process, tell us — we'll make it work.
