For over forty years, HarbourVest has been home to a committed team of professionals with an entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to deliver impactful solutions to our clients and investing partners. As our global firm grows, we continue to add individuals who seek a collaborative, open-door culture that values diversity and innovative thinking.

In our collegial environment that’s marked by low turnover and high energy, you’ll be inspired to grow and thrive. Here, you will be encouraged to build on your strengths and acquire new skills and experiences.

We are committed to fostering an environment of inclusion that promotes mutual respect among all employees. Understanding and valuing these differences optimizes the potential of both the individual and the firm.

HarbourVest is an equal opportunity employer.

This position will be a hybrid work arrangement. You will receive 18 remote workdays per quarter to use at your discretion, subject to manager approval. For example, you may choose to work in the office 4 days per week and take one remote day weekly (typically 13 weeks per quarter), leaving 5 additional remote days to be used as needed.

The principal function of this role is to support the Global Private Wealth Strategic Accounts team in enabling and managing HarbourVest’s private wealth intermediary relationships. As HarbourVest develops relationships with distribution partners in the wealth channel, each platform requires the coordination of a complex set of processes across onboarding, legal and compliance, operations, client service, and ongoing due diligence. The Strategic Accounts Senior Associate will take ownership of this work, including onboarding new partners, maintaining platform infrastructure, leading RFP/DDQ responses, developing presentation materials, and coordinating distribution partner activities. The role serves as a trusted point of contact for platform partners and internal stakeholders, ensures that internal teams are aligned and requirements are met, and contributes to process improvements that make platform enablement more scalable and efficient.

The ideal candidate is someone who has

  • Strong working knowledge of private markets and private wealth distribution, including how wealth platforms operate
  • Proven ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and escalate issues appropriately, while collaborating effectively across teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including with senior internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex workstreams under tight timelines, with minimal oversight
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a commitment to quality work product
  • Strong interpersonal skills and client service orientation, with the ability to build credibility with distribution partners
  • Ability to anticipate needs, identify risks or gaps in process, and propose practical solutions

What you will do

Platform & Relationship Execution

  • Lead onboarding activities with distribution partners from kickoff through launch
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, Operations, and Marketing to ensure client requirements are met, and resolve issues as they arise
  • Own the tracking and management of agreement terms, documentation, and key deliverables across assigned relationships
  • Serve as the central point of coordination across internal teams to drive alignment and timely execution

Strategic Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Marketing to shape and execute platform-specific initiatives, campaigns, and conference participation
  • Coordinate the rollout of new products, initiatives, and platform enhancements across internal groups, and track progress to completion
  • Partner with the Client Service team to maintain a high standard of responsiveness across platform relationships, and act as the escalation point for complex client service matters
  • Monitor service delivery against partner expectations, and recommend and implement improvements to the client experience

Platform Communications & Materials

  • Lead the review and submission of RFPs, DDQs, and ad hoc due diligence requests, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery
  • Develop and present materials for meetings and platform operational due diligence sessions, including onsite visits
  • Maintain and improve response libraries and templates to increase efficiency and consistency

Data, Reporting & Internal Coordination

  • Maintain and update data in the CRM system and internal tracking documents to ensure accurate tracking of platform relationships and engagement activity
  • Work with the Commercial Operations team to optimize marketing campaigns, client reporting and underlying activity tracking
  • Develop and enhance CRM reporting to provide comprehensive, current coverage of all platform relationships
  • Compile and analyze fundraising metrics, engagement trends, and platform pipeline activity
  • Support internal communication and preparation for senior-level meetings and updates

What you bring

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a client-service orientation

Education Preferred

  • Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Bachelor of Science (B.S), or equivalent experience

Experience

  • 4-6 years of experience in wealth/asset management, preferably in alternative investments, with demonstrated experience managing distribution or wealth platform relationships.
