Job Description

Join a global industrial organization undergoing significant commercial transformation.

We are looking for a Global Sales Excellence Leader to lead the strategy, governance, and continuous improvement of the global sales process from lead generation through opportunity development and quote delivery.

This senior leadership role will focus on making it easier and more effective for sales teams to sell. The Global Sales Excellence Leader will evaluate how sales teams work today, identify opportunities to simplify and standardize processes, strengthen pipeline and opportunity management, improve seller adoption of tools and technology, and establish scalable sales practices across global regions.

The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of the day-to-day realities of sales and has experience working across Sales Excellence, Commercial Excellence, Sales Enablement, Sales Operations, or commercial process transformation. This role requires someone who can connect people, process, technology, data, and enablement into one cohesive sales ecosystem while balancing global consistency with the needs of regional teams.

To succeed in this role, you will be highly driven to:

  • Own and continuously improve the global Lead-to-Quote process, from Marketing Qualified Lead through opportunity development, pipeline management, and quote delivery.
  • Assess current sales processes, identify gaps and friction points, and create a phased roadmap for improvement.
  • Establish clear and scalable sales processes, standards, governance, decision rights, KPIs, and best practices across regions.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Enablement, Analytics, Digital Transformation, and other cross-functional teams to improve handoffs and the overall seller experience.
  • Serve as a business leader for sales technology and CRM processes, including lead, opportunity, pipeline, forecasting, and quoting workflows.
  • Improve how sales teams use CRM, ERP, analytics, enablement platforms, and other tools throughout the sales process.
  • Strengthen pipeline governance, opportunity management, forecast accuracy, data quality, and commercial reporting.
  • Develop and govern global sales playbooks, competency frameworks, and enablement approaches that help sellers work more consistently and effectively.
  • Identify opportunities to use AI, automation, and digital tools to improve seller productivity, lead qualification, deal insights, forecasting, and guided selling.
  • Lead major commercial transformation and continuous improvement initiatives that remove unnecessary work, reduce process fragmentation, and improve deal velocity and conversion.
  • Apply process-improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, value-stream mapping, and related approaches where appropriate.
  • Build strong relationships with regional sales teams and senior leaders, creating alignment without losing the flexibility needed across different markets.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executive and commercial leadership on sales process, performance, transformation, and continuous improvement.
  • Build and develop the Sales Excellence organization over time, including leadership of regional Sales Excellence resources as the function evolves.

Requirements

What You Bring

  • Significant experience in Sales Excellence, Commercial Excellence, Sales Enablement, Sales Operations, commercial transformation, or business transformation within a B2B industrial, manufacturing, hardware, or technology environment.
  • Deep understanding of sales processes and the seller journey, including lead management, opportunity development, pipeline governance, forecasting, quoting, and CRM adoption.
  • Experience leading large-scale sales process improvement, standardization, or transformation initiatives across multiple regions or business units.
  • Strong experience partnering directly with sales teams and understanding how processes, systems, and tools affect the seller experience.
  • Experience with CRM platforms; Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with ERP environments such as SAP, as well as sales analytics, enablement platforms, and related commercial technologies.
  • Experience working with sales playbooks, sales competencies, enablement, or seller capability development.
  • Strong process-improvement mindset with the ability to diagnose root causes and turn complex commercial challenges into practical solutions.
  • Experience influencing across a global, highly matrixed organization.
  • Strong executive communication, stakeholder management, and change leadership skills.
  • Experience leading or developing geographically distributed teams.
  • Master's degree or equivalent education in Business Administration, Sales Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred; extensive relevant experience may substitute for the degree.

Location & Travel

This role offers flexibility in location, with a strong preference for candidates in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. Candidates in other well-connected U.S. markets may also be considered.

The position requires significant travel and may involve up to approximately 50% travel, particularly during the early stages of the role, to build relationships and support global and regional transformation efforts.
