About the Team
The GIS team sits within Amey Consulting's Climate & Place practice, part of the Advisory business. We provide geospatial expertise across a wide range of sectors including infrastructure, transportation, environmental management, utilities, and energy. Using cutting-edge spatial technologies, data analytics, and digital solutions, the team supports evidence-based decision making and delivers innovative outcomes for clients across the UK.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Graduate GIS Consultant to develop their career within a collaborative and supportive team of geospatial professionals. You will contribute to a diverse portfolio of projects by producing maps, analysing spatial data, managing geographic information systems, and supporting the delivery of GIS solutions for clients.

Working alongside experienced consultants, you will gain practical experience in GIS software, spatial analysis, data management, web mapping, and geospatial consultancy. From project initiation through to delivery, you will develop technical and professional skills while helping solve real-world challenges through the application of geospatial technology.

What you’ll be doing

As a Graduate GIS Consultant,

You will work alongside the team to:

• Create, manage, and maintain geospatial datasets and mapping products.
• Undertake spatial analysis to support infrastructure, environmental, and planning projects.
• Develop maps, dashboards, and visualisations using GIS and web-based technologies.
• Support data collection, quality assurance, and data management activities.
• Assist with the production of technical reports and client deliverables.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to integrate geospatial insights into project outcomes.
• Stay informed about developments in GIS, remote sensing, data science, and digital technologies.

To be considered , you'll need to meet the following requirements:

• A degree (minimum 2:1) in GIS, Geography, Geospatial Science, Environmental Science, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• An interest in geospatial technologies and spatial data analysis.
• Experience with GIS software such as ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, QGIS, or similar (through academic projects, placements, or personal study).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Enthusiasm for learning and developing a career in geospatial consultancy.
