Put your built environment degree to work on the product information construction professionals use to design and specify buildings.

Graduate Data Author

Newcastle | Hybrid: One Trinity Gardens

Salary DOE

At Hubexo, you’ll turn manufacturers’ technical documents into clear, accurate content for our NBS products. You’ll build practical skills in specification writing, product classification and digital construction information.

You don’t need previous paid authoring experience. Bring your construction knowledge, clear writing and a careful approach. We’ll help you learn our products, systems and authoring standards.

What you’ll do

Manufacturers supply information about their building products. Architects and specifiers need to find it, understand it and use it confidently. Your work helps connect the two.

Working in our Supplier Technical Delivery team, you’ll:

  • Create and update product information and specification content for NBS Source, Chorus and Lattira Spec.

  • Read technical documents, research missing details and write clear product descriptions.

  • Classify straightforward building products and add supplied BIM data to the correct records.

  • Check descriptions, supporting documents and certification links for accuracy and completeness.

  • Publish approved content, archive outdated records and manage manufacturers’ requests for changes.

  • Speak with customers and work with technical authors, Sales, Customer Success and delivery colleagues to keep work moving.

The work calls for concentration, careful checking and clear communication. You’ll manage several requests and deadlines, investigate gaps and ask for support when needed.

What you’ll bring

A degree in Architectural Technology or a related subject, such as Building Surveying, Architecture, Construction Management or a relevant engineering discipline.

You’ll also bring:

  • An understanding of building materials, products and construction methods.

  • The ability to explain technical information clearly and accurately in writing.

  • Research skills to compare information, spot inconsistencies and identify missing details.

  • An organised approach to deadlines, with the confidence to raise questions and ask for help.

  • Clear communication, a collaborative approach and an interest in digital construction information and structured data.

Your examples can come from coursework, projects, placements or employment.

Knowledge of BIM, specification writing, Uniclass or NBS products would be useful, but isn’t essential.

What you’ll gain

You’ll apply your studies to real product information used by construction professionals, while developing your technical authoring knowledge.

As you learn, you’ll handle straightforward work independently, with experienced colleagues supporting more complex technical, classification and compliance questions.

You’ll report to the Supplier Technical Delivery Manager and learn alongside the authoring team.

Working arrangements and benefits

You’ll work a 35-hour week, Monday to Friday. Our hybrid arrangement includes three days at One Trinity Gardens, Newcastle, and two days working from home.

Salary is dependent on experience.

Our benefits include:

  • 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, with the option to buy or sell holiday, and birthday leave.

  • Two volunteering days.

  • Pension and life assurance.

  • Discounted private medical insurance, 24/7 remote GP access and an Employee Assistance Programme.

  • An onsite gym and eye-care support.

  • A cycle-to-work scheme and an interest-free travel-ticket loan.
