Group Financial Accountant | North Yorkshire | £55,000 to £65,000
Working pattern: full time, hybrid, typically three days a week in the office.
I'm working with a multi-entity group that needs a Group Financial Accountant to own the consolidation. It suits someone already doing group reporting who wants more ownership of it, and a bigger technical brief.
Group Finance sits at head office and works closely with finance leads around the business. The month end runs across a large number of entities, so the consolidation is the core of the job.
The role
Own the monthly consolidation journals across the group.
Bring new entities into the group accounts and get the opening position right.
Tighten balance sheet controls with the finance leads in the business.
Be the technical voice when new accounting standards come in.
Run the statutory year end and look after the audit.
Pull together the numbers senior management use to make decisions, and simplify the reporting where you can.
Line manage and develop part of the team.
The person
ACA or ACCA qualified.
Strong on IFRS and group consolidation.
Doing group reporting now. Multi-entity experience is a bonus.
Practice-trained is welcome, as is experience of a consolidation system.
Happy explaining technical points to people outside finance, and comfortable managing juniors.
The package
£55,000 to £65,000 depending on experience.
Full time, 37.5 hours.
Hybrid, typically three days a week in the office.
This is a technical, detail-heavy seat. If your background is mainly management accounts, it probably isn't the one. It's also three days a week in the office, so it needs to be a commute you're happy with.
