Group Head of Insurance Platforms

The new role has been established to provide dedicated ownership of our core insurance systems across Australia and New Zealand, supporting our ambition to modernise, simplify and strengthen the platforms that power our business.

Reporting to the Group Technology & Transformation Officer, you'll lead the performance, operations, delivery and ongoing modernisation of nib's insurance platforms supporting APHI, nib New Zealand and nib Travel. You'll work at the intersection of technology, operations and business strategy, ensuring our core platforms are reliable, secure, scalable and ready to support future growth.

You'll lead the teams responsible for some of nib's most critical platforms while shaping the roadmap that will simplify legacy environments, improve customer and employee experiences, strengthen operational resilience and accelerate delivery of strategic outcomes. As a key member of the Technology & Transformation leadership team, you'll help turn strategy into execution and play a significant role in delivering nib's long-term ambitions.

What you'll be responsible for:

• Leading the delivery, operational performance and continuous improvement of nib's insurance platforms across Australia and New Zealand
• Developing and executing platform roadmaps aligned to business priorities, technology strategy and transformation objectives
• Building high-performing teams focused on accountability, customer outcomes, technical excellence and continuous improvement
• Driving service reliability, operational resilience and disciplined delivery practices across the insurance technology portfolio
• Managing strategic technology vendors, commercial relationships, budgets and investment decisions
• Partnering with business, architecture, cyber security and risk leaders to balance speed, innovation, risk and value creation
• Leading platform modernisation and simplification initiatives that improve member experiences and business efficiency

About you

You're a senior technology leader who thrives in complex environments and enjoys leading through change.

You'll bring:

• Significant leadership experience across enterprise applications, core platforms, technology operations or large-scale delivery environments
• A track record of improving operational performance, service reliability and customer outcomes
• Experience leading large technology teams through transformation, modernisation and continuous improvement
• Strong commercial, financial and vendor management capability
• The ability to influence and collaborate with senior executives and business leaders
• A pragmatic leadership style that balances strategic thinking with operational execution
• Essential experience working in insurance, with health insurance experience strongly preferred, ideally within a complex, regulated technology environment
