We make health happen!

At Bupa, our purpose is simple: helping people live longer, healthier, happier lives and making a better world. Delivering on that purpose relies not only on our own people and capabilities, but on the strength, resilience and integrity of the organisations we choose to work with.

As Head of Third Party Risk Management- Frameworks and Engagement (TPRM), you’ll provide Group-wide leadership for our approach to third-party risk, setting the direction, frameworks and oversight that enable our businesses to manage third-party relationships confidently and consistently. We’re looking for someone who genuinely knows TPRM, combining deep subject-matter expertise with the credibility and influence to work across a complex international organisation and help turn strong frameworks into effective practice.

If you’re looking for an opportunity to bring your TPRM expertise to an organisation where what you do genuinely matters, we’d love to hear from you. You’ll have the opportunity to make an impact at Group level, helping to strengthen Bupa’s resilience while ultimately supporting our purpose for the people and communities we serve.

How you’ll help us make health happen:

Shape our Group-wide TPRM framework

  • Lead the management, implementation and ongoing development of Bupa’s TPRM frameworks, ensuring evolving regulatory requirements are reflected in our approach and documentation.
  • Own the design of key controls and KRIs, providing meaningful reporting and insight to management committees.
  • Oversee Market Unit adherence to Group frameworks, helping ensure a consistent and robust approach to third-party risk across Bupa.

Set the strategy and direction for TPRM

  • Define and lead the strategic direction for TPRM across Bupa, translating Group expectations into an approach that works effectively across our different businesses.
  • Work with our Market Units to support the implementation and continued development of their TPRM operating models and strategies.

Provide effective oversight and governance

  • Lead senior TPRM stakeholder committees and provide clear, insightful reporting and briefings to Board committees.
  • Maintain oversight of TPRM capabilities across our Market Units, ensuring processes are robust and aligned with leading industry standards.
  • Track actions and findings arising from reviews, ensuring they are appropriately documented and completed in a timely way.

Build strong relationships and strengthen capability

  • Build trusted relationships with Heads of TPRM and wider teams across Bupa, helping embed third-party risk requirements into business practices and supporting the continued maturity of our capabilities.
  • Develop relationships with TPRM leaders across the industry and peer organisations, using external insight to understand maturity and ensure our approach remains appropriate and proportionate.
  • Provide guidance to Market Units on the implementation of TPRM and support training and communications across the organisation.

Turn data into meaningful insight

  • Lead the development and implementation of TPRM management information and reporting, interpreting metrics and third-party risk data into meaningful insight for different senior audiences.
  • Manage TPRM reporting in line with Bupa’s risk appetite, working across multiple Market Units to bring together accurate and timely data.
  • Lead data governance activity across the business to strengthen the quality and consistency of information provided to management.
  • Develop our TPRM tooling capability, including management dashboards that provide clear visibility of third-party risks.
  • Ensure processes, risks, recommendations and supporting documentation meet Bupa’s policies and relevant regulatory requirements.

Skills & experience needed for this role:

We’re looking for an experienced TPRM leader who can bring deep expertise alongside the judgement, curiosity and influence needed to operate effectively across a complex global organisation. You’ll bring:

  • Deep expertise in Third-Party Risk Management, developed within complex global organisations, ideally with federated operating models, alongside a strong understanding of Operational Risk, Operational Resilience and the wider role TPRM plays in protecting an organisation and its customers.
  • Strong experience of developing and evolving TPRM frameworks, with the technical depth to understand what good looks like and a strong understanding of global regulatory requirements and how these translate into effective, proportionate risk management.
  • Credible and engaging leadership, with the communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills to build trusted relationships, constructively challenge and create alignment with senior stakeholders across different businesses and functions.
  • A genuinely global mindset, comfortable working across different cultures and geographies and able to adapt your approach to different markets, operating environments and levels of TPRM maturity.
  • An analytical and forward-looking approach, with the curiosity to ask the right questions, interpret complex business requirements and data, and bring objective, creative and lateral thinking to challenges and decisions.
  • Sound judgement, resilience and attention to detail, with the tenacity to work through complex issues, handle sensitive matters with appropriate discretion and maintain quality in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • An understanding of Bupa, our products and the markets in which we operate would be valuable
