Summary:


Envision Unlimited’s Community Day Programming is expanding our Adventures Unlimited program to meet the needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities who currently are not receiving DHS waiver services. Adventures Unlimited is a respite program offered to families in need of caregiver relief in the Chicago Metropolitan Area. Adventures Unlimited seeks to match individuals and families with programming that more than meets their needs. This program is hoping to add one more team member in the Central and Southern Illinois region as we expand our programming throughout the state.

Currently, seeking a Group Respite Coordinator to help with conducting outreach, intake interviews, reporting and filing exit surveys with each new client and submitting timely paperwork for quarterly DHS reports.

Some of the duties to include:

  • Conduct outreach opportunities at local school and vocational fairs.
  • Cold-calling individuals who have previously expressed interest in receiving services for themselves or a family member with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Conduct interviews with individuals and family members to introduce the program and inquire about the needs of the household as it pertains to respite services.
  • Must be organized and take pertinent notes regarding preferences, behavioral needs and care required prior to scheduling an in-person activity.
  • Planning and organizing group respite events and activities.
  • Direct Support of members in participation of all Group Respite activities.
  • Conduct exit surveys with each member after each activity to record feedback after participation in Adventures Unlimited activities.
  • Great communication skills SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.


Our Must Haves:

  • High School Diploma and/or?GED?equivalent.
  • Attend mandatory trainings offered Monday -Friday 9am-5pm.
  • Pass a full criminal background check.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel
  • Reliable Transportation
  • Must become a DCFS of Illinois Mandated Reporter

Nice To Haves: (but not required)?

  • Six months or more experience working with the DD/ID population.
  • College course work in related field?(social work/psychology/sociology/special education/rehabilitation/human services?etc..)
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish.
  • Hobby skills in the arena dance, arts & crafts, theater, gardening, sewing etc...?

Location:?( Hybrid) Central / Southern, IL

Schedule: Part-time – flexible schedule may fluctuate Monday – Saturday

Salary: $19,584 annually
