About CausalFunnel
CausalFunnel is an AI-powered growth optimization company helping businesses identify and eliminate revenue leaks across their digital marketing funnel.
We are looking for a Growth Marketing Manager who can help us accelerate our own growth.
This is not a traditional marketing role. We are looking for someone who combines engineering, business, marketing, ecommerce, analytics, and business development and can take ownership of measurable business outcomes.
You will work closely with the CEO and founding team to identify growth opportunities, develop strategies, run experiments, and execute initiatives that directly increase revenue, customer acquisition, retention, and profitability.
The Profile We're Looking For
The ideal candidate combines:
Engineering + MBA + Growth Marketing + Business Development
You may have started your career in engineering or technology, completed an MBA, and subsequently moved into digital marketing, ecommerce, growth, consulting, or business development.
You should be equally comfortable discussing:
- Code, APIs, websites and analytics
- CAC, LTV, ROAS and conversion rates
- SEO, CRO, paid acquisition and email marketing
- D2C ecommerce growth
- Revenue, margins and unit economics
- Sales pipelines and business development
- Growth strategy and business economics
Most importantly, you think like a business owner, not just a marketer.
What You'll Do
1. Growth Strategy & Revenue
- Develop and execute CausalFunnel's growth strategy.
- Identify new customer acquisition and revenue opportunities.
- Build and optimize the funnel from traffic → lead → demo/trial → customer.
- Improve conversion rates throughout the customer journey.
- Analyze CAC, LTV, ROI, conversion rates and channel economics.
- Develop go-to-market strategies for new products and offerings.
- Identify opportunities to increase revenue, retention and customer expansion.
- Develop and execute experiments to discover scalable growth channels.
- Work directly with the CEO on strategic growth initiatives.
2. Revenue Growth & Commercial Optimization
Help improve the economics, efficiency and scalability of our growth operations.
- Analyze revenue, margins, CAC and unit economics.
- Identify opportunities to increase revenue per customer and profitability.
- Optimize marketing programs and processes for greater ROI.
- Identify upsell, cross-sell and customer expansion opportunities.
- Improve customer acquisition and retention.
- Develop scalable growth systems and repeatable processes.
- Analyze channel performance and allocate resources toward the highest-impact opportunities.
- Work with sales and marketing to improve lead quality, conversion and revenue.
- Identify operational inefficiencies and develop solutions that improve business performance.
We want someone who understands not just how to generate traffic and leads, but how to turn marketing activity into profitable revenue.
3. D2C & Ecommerce Growth
You must have hands-on experience growing D2C/ecommerce brands.
- Develop strategies to increase ecommerce revenue and customer acquisition.
- Optimize paid advertising, SEO, CRO, email and organic acquisition.
- Improve ecommerce conversion rates and customer journeys.
- Increase AOV and customer LTV.
- Analyze acquisition and retention economics.
- Identify growth bottlenecks.
- Run experiments designed to generate incremental revenue.
- Understand and optimize CAC, ROAS, MER, LTV, AOV and conversion rate.
We want candidates who can demonstrate measurable ecommerce growth they personally contributed to.
4. Email & Lifecycle Marketing
Own and optimize email marketing and lifecycle initiatives:
- Lead nurturing and welcome sequences
- Abandoned-cart and post-purchase campaigns
- Customer reactivation
- Upsell/cross-sell campaigns
- Segmentation and personalization
- Marketing automation
- A/B testing
Experience with Klaviyo, HubSpot, Mailchimp or similar platforms is expected.
You should understand how to measure email performance through revenue, conversion, engagement, retention and LTV.
We want someone who has generated measurable revenue through email—not simply managed an email platform.
5. SEO, CRO & Website Growth
- Increase organic traffic and qualified leads.
- Work on technical SEO, content strategy, internal linking and website authority.
- Analyze landing pages and conversion funnels.
- Identify and fix conversion bottlenecks.
- Develop and execute A/B tests.
- Improve website messaging, UX, CTAs and offers.
- Use analytics and behavioral data to identify revenue leaks.
6. Technical Marketing
This is a critical requirement.
You should be able to understand and modify basic web code and work comfortably with technical systems.
Experience with some or most of:
- HTML / CSS
- JavaScript
- Python or another programming language
- APIs and webhooks
- Google Analytics / GA4
- Google Tag Manager
- SQL / data analysis
- Shopify
- WordPress
- Marketing automation platforms
- AI tools and APIs
You don't need to be a full-time software engineer, but you must be able to code, understand how websites work, work with data, and communicate effectively with engineers.
7. Experimentation & Analytics
- Develop growth hypotheses.
- Design and execute A/B tests.
- Analyze experiment results.
- Identify what is driving incremental revenue.
- Build dashboards and reporting.
- Track funnel performance and customer behavior.
- Identify bottlenecks and revenue leaks.
- Use data to make marketing and business decisions.
- Continuously test messaging, offers, channels, landing pages and campaigns.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in growth marketing, digital marketing, performance marketing, ecommerce, business development, or a related field.
- Experience working in a digital marketing / growth environment.
- Demonstrated experience improving revenue, profitability, customer acquisition economics, or business performance through marketing and growth initiatives.
- Proven experience growing D2C/ecommerce brands.
- Proven experience successfully running email marketing and lifecycle campaigns.
- Strong understanding of SEO, CRO, paid acquisition and digital analytics.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or another technical discipline.
- MBA from a recognized institution.
- Ability to code and work with web technologies.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Strong understanding of business and unit economics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Strong commercial judgment.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership from strategy through execution.
You Will Stand Out If You Have
- Experience significantly scaling a D2C/ecommerce brand.
- Experience improving revenue or profitability for a marketing-driven business.
- Experience taking a business from early-stage to meaningful revenue growth.
- Strong Shopify and/or WordPress experience.
- Advanced Klaviyo, Brevo, or HubSpot experience.
- Google Ads and Meta Ads experience.
- Technical SEO experience.
- CRO and experimentation experience.
- SaaS marketing experience.
- Experience with AI-powered marketing tools.
- Experience building marketing automation or internal tools.
- Experience working directly with a founder or CEO.
- Experience launching new products, services or business lines.
- Startup or high-growth company experience.
What We Value
Business Ownership
We don't want someone who says:
"I ran the Google Ads campaign."
We want someone who says:
"CAC was $X, conversion was Y%, I changed these three things, and revenue increased by Z%."
We care about what changed because of your work.
Analytical Thinking
You should naturally ask:
- What is the bottleneck?
- Where are we losing customers?
- What does the data tell us?
- What experiment should we run?
- What is the expected ROI?
- How does this affect the bottom line?
Entrepreneurial Execution
We're a startup. You won't receive a perfectly defined list of tasks every Monday morning.
You will identify opportunities, formulate a plan, execute it, measure the results and iterate.
How Success Will Be Measured
Your success will ultimately be measured by business outcomes, including:
- Revenue growth
- Qualified leads
- Customer acquisition
- Conversion rates
- CAC and LTV
- Marketing ROI
- Ecommerce revenue
- Email-attributed revenue
- Customer retention
- Revenue per customer
- Growth of CausalFunnel's customer base
- Contribution to company profitability
We don't measure success by the number of campaigns launched, emails sent, or reports produced. We measure success by measurable business impact.
