Key responsibilities
What you can expect
Our two-year trainee programme is designed to help you build confidence, broaden your experience and develop the skills needed to qualify as a solicitor. You will gain exposure to complex and varied work, learn from experienced colleagues and have the opportunity to build relationships across our international firm.
Support from day one: A dedicated induction programme, regular feedback and support from supervisors, mentors, buddies and fellow trainees will help you settle into legal practice, build lasting professional relationships and continue developing throughout your training contract.
Broad experience and international exposure: You'll rotate through different practice areas, gaining exposure to both contentious and non-contentious work. Along the way, you'll have opportunities to collaborate with colleagues and clients across jurisdictions, and contribute to the complex, cross-border matters that are a key part of our business.
Investment in your development: You'll complete the SQE before starting your training contract, with financial support towards course and examination fees and the flexibility to choose the study provider that suits you. This means that, once you join, you can focus fully on gaining practical experience and developing the wider skills you need as a lawyer. Our support also starts before your first day: we'll introduce you to key people at Ogier and help you get to know other trainees while you study, so you can begin building relationships and feeling connected to the firm early on.
Building skills for long-term success: Alongside your legal training, you'll develop commercial awareness, communication, relationship-building and other professional skills that will support your long-term career development.
