Ensure work area is clean at all times Greet, register and assign rooms to guests of resort. Register guest upon check-in ensuring correct procedures and information on registration card is maintained i.e. name, address, hotel voucher, credit card, departure date, additional names, guests signature and email address. Keeps record of room availability and guests’ accounts, manually or using computers. Perform simple bookkeeping activities, such as balancing cash accounts and having all audits signed by management and submitted to close out with supporting back-ups before shift ends. Maintains cash float at 100% accuracy at all times. Review accounts and charges with guests during the check-out process ensuring that account is settled. Contact guest in due-out rooms to determine departure time. Post charges, such as rooms, late check-out fees, gratuities, or telephone calls, to ledgers manually, or by using computers. Print and check non balance report daily, guest related charges must be cleared. Control and monitor late check-outs and room changes. Carry out safety deposit box control procedures when opening and closing safety deposit box. Perform follow-up calls, broadcast and post all adjustment s using the appropriate GL numbers. Contact dispatch staff when guests report problems and report early check ins/outs, due outs. Report the following to Hotel Assistant Manager, Handicapped Guests, Claimer (Guest with no hotel vouchers), and Unexpected Departures or guest concerns. Record all pertinent information relating to each guest in HotSos so that a guest history profile can be maintained. Read Bulletin Boards and Information Logs daily to remain current on all information relevant to the operation. Follow through on outstanding issues and communicate to Manager. Assist customers with faxes and shipping needs. Ensure that all equipment is functioning properly within the department. Report all malfunctions to the supervisor immediately i.e. Terminals, Printers, Key Machine and Telephones. Check AED Machine to ensure that the light is blinking and First Aid Kit daily to ensure that all items are in place in the event of an emergency. Follow all safety and emergency standards at all times i.e. Codes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
