Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, underwriters, product owners, and technical teams to gather, analyze, validate, and document business requirements for Guidewire PolicyCenter implementations and enhancements.
- Conduct requirements workshops, stakeholder interviews, and discovery sessions to understand policy administration processes and business needs.
- Create and maintain Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirements Specifications (FRSs), user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and use cases.
- Perform gap analysis and recommend process improvements while maintaining requirements traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
- Analyze and document requirements related to new business processing, renewals, policy changes and endorsements, cancellations, reinstatements, underwriting, rating and pricing, product configuration, and policy servicing.
- Work with Solution Architects and development teams to translate business requirements into functional solutions aligned with Guidewire capabilities and industry best practices.
- Serve as the liaison between business users and technical teams, facilitating requirement walkthroughs, design discussions, and solution reviews.
- Manage communications with key stakeholders and business subject matter experts (SMEs), and support project estimation and planning activities.
- Review and validate test scenarios and test cases, support System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and coordinate defect triage and resolution.
- Validate delivered solutions against agreed business requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Work with Product Owners to prioritize backlog items and coordinate with cross-functional teams to support timely project delivery.
- For senior and lead-level roles, drive large-scale requirements workshops, lead end-to-end functional design, mentor junior Business Analysts, and collaborate with client leadership and enterprise architects.
- Support roadmap planning and policy administration transformation initiatives, ensuring solutions align with organizational goals and Guidewire best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 6-10 years of overall professional experience, with at least 3 years working on Guidewire PolicyCenter projects.
- Proven experience in insurance business analysis, particularly within Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance.
- Strong functional knowledge of Guidewire PolicyCenter, policy administration processes, and the insurance policy lifecycle.
- Experience gathering and documenting requirements, performing functional and gap analysis, creating user stories, and developing functional specifications.
- Understanding of PolicyCenter product models, coverage configuration, underwriting rules, rating and pricing, policy transactions, account management, and contact management.
- Knowledge of policy lifecycle processes, including new business, policy issuance, renewals, endorsements, cancellations, and reinstatements.
- Experience working in Agile project environments and collaborating with business and technology teams.
- Strong stakeholder management, analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and process modeling skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to facilitate discussions and present functional solutions effectively.
- Guidewire ACE Certification – PolicyCenter (highly preferred).
- Guidewire Certified Specialist – PolicyCenter certification.
- Guidewire Cloud certification.
- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA), SAFe Agilist, or other Scrum certifications.
- Experience with Guidewire Cloud Platform, upgrades, migrations, and transformation initiatives.
- Exposure to integrations involving BillingCenter, ClaimCenter, third-party rating engines, and document management systems.
- Basic understanding of APIs, REST services, and Guidewire architecture.
- Experience supporting digital policy administration transformation programs.
- Additional insurance-related certifications or experience across multiple insurance product lines.
- Guidewire PolicyCenter: Policy administration, product model, coverage configuration, underwriting rules, rating and pricing, policy transactions, account management, contact management, renewals, endorsements, cancellations, and reinstatements.
- Business Analysis: Requirements gathering, functional analysis, gap analysis, impact analysis, user story creation, acceptance criteria, requirements traceability, and backlog management.
- Process Modeling & Documentation: BRDs, FRSs, use cases, process mapping, process flows, UML, BPMN, and functional documentation.
- Insurance Domain: Property & Casualty insurance, commercial and personal lines, underwriting workflows, policy lifecycle management, insurance products, risk assessment, premium calculation, and regulatory compliance.
- Testing & Validation: SIT, UAT coordination, test scenario and test case reviews, defect triage, and requirements validation.
- Tools & Platforms: Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, Visio, Lucidchart, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Integration & Architecture: Guidewire architecture, APIs, REST services, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter, third-party rating engines, and document management integrations.
- Delivery Methodologies: Agile/Scrum, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and SDLC practices.
- Professional Competencies: Stakeholder management, facilitation, client communication, analytical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and organizational skills.
