Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, configure, customize, and support Guidewire PolicyCenter applications.
- Develop and maintain business rules, product model configurations, workflows, and system integrations.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, Business Analysts, Solution Architects, and QA teams to gather requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
- Build and maintain integrations using SOAP/REST web services, messaging frameworks, and the Guidewire Integration Framework.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure compliance with Guidewire development standards, best practices, and design patterns.
- Troubleshoot application defects and production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement timely resolutions.
- Participate in effort estimation, technical design discussions, sprint planning, and Agile/Scrum ceremonies.
- Support deployment activities, release management, and implementation-related tasks.
- Prepare technical design documents and maintain accurate project documentation.
- Collaborate with QA teams during testing, defect investigation, and resolution activities.
- Contribute to implementation, enhancement, migration, and upgrade projects involving Guidewire PolicyCenter.
- 5–7 years of overall IT experience.
- At least 4 years of hands-on Guidewire PolicyCenter development experience.
- Current and valid Guidewire PolicyCenter ACE Certification — mandatory.
- Experience working on Guidewire implementation, enhancement, migration, or upgrade projects.
- Strong understanding of Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance processes and business requirements.
- Solid knowledge of Guidewire development best practices, configuration standards, and design patterns.
- Hands-on experience with PolicyCenter configuration, Gosu programming, Guidewire Studio, product model configuration, data model extensions, PCF, typelists, UI configuration, rules engines, and batch processes.
- Experience developing and supporting integrations through REST/SOAP web services and the Guidewire Integration Framework.
- Working knowledge of SQL, database concepts, and version control tools such as Git, Bitbucket, or SVN.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage technical requirements in an Agile delivery environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with Guidewire Cloud and cloud-based PolicyCenter implementations.
- Exposure to Guidewire PolicyCenter upgrades, migrations, and modernization initiatives.
- Familiarity with Guidewire Integration Gateway, ContactManager, and BillingCenter.
- Experience with Kafka, MuleSoft, or other enterprise integration platforms.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.
- Exposure to Guidewire Digital Portal solutions.
- Additional Guidewire certifications beyond the mandatory PolicyCenter ACE Certification.
- Experience contributing to solution design, stakeholder coordination, and technical decision-making.
- Guidewire Platform: PolicyCenter configuration, Guidewire Studio, Gosu programming, and Guidewire development best practices.
- Configuration & Customization: Product model configuration, data model extensions, PCF (Page Configuration Format), typelists, UI configuration, rules engine, and batch processes.
- Integration Technologies: Guidewire Integration Framework, REST APIs, SOAP web services, messaging frameworks, and system integration.
- Database & Version Control: SQL, database fundamentals, Git, Bitbucket, and SVN.
- Insurance Domain: Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance and policy administration processes.
- Cloud & Modernization: Guidewire Cloud, PolicyCenter upgrades, migrations, and implementation projects.
- Enterprise Integration: Guidewire Integration Gateway, Kafka, MuleSoft, ContactManager, and BillingCenter.
