Handover Team Lead - HVAC (HPC/SZC)

Ready to shape solutions for some of the UK’s most complex nuclear engineering projects? Join EDF and use your HVAC design expertise to influence major delivery decisions across Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C while building a career where Success is Personal.

The Opportunity

As the Handover Team Lead – HVAC, you’ll play a key role in ensuring technical alignment across two of Europe’s largest nuclear new-build programmes. You’ll lead the resolution of design issues, manage engineering interfaces, and support the successful delivery of critical nuclear HVAC systems.

EDF EPR Engineering UK delivers the design for nuclear island buildings, systems, and equipment for Hinkley Point C and similar projects.

Working as part of an integrated team, EPR Engineering supports construction and commissioning while preparing design replication activities and future project opportunities that contribute towards An Electric Britain.

This hybrid role is based at #AztecWest in #Bristol, with a minimum of three days per week in the office. You’ll also visit Hinkley Point C site regularly and may occasionally travel internationally, primarily to France or Germany.

Working across supplier organisations, project teams, and back-office design teams, you’ll lead the management of open points, design modifications, non-conformances, and technical queries. You’ll help ensure alignment across multiple stakeholders while supporting the successful delivery of major nuclear engineering projects.

Who You Are

We’re looking for an experienced HVAC professional with strong design expertise and a proven track record within complex nuclear projects. You’ll be comfortable working across organisational boundaries, building effective relationships, and driving technical issues through to resolution.

Are you experienced in…

HVAC design engineering within complex engineering or nuclear projects
Working on nuclear projects within highly regulated environments
Managing technical issues, design modifications, non-conformances, or engineering queries between suppliers and design teams
Building effective relationships with suppliers, project teams, and technical stakeholders at all levels
Adapting your communication style to engage both technical and non-technical audiences

What You’ll Be Doing

Leading the HVAC Handover Team supporting both Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C projects
Acting as the focal point for HVAC technical issue resolution between suppliers, project teams, and design teams
Managing design changes, open points, contractor requests, and engineering queries throughout project delivery
Coordinating configuration and technical information across project teams to maintain alignment between HPC and SZC
Developing effective processes, reporting, and ways of working that support successful project outcomes
Supporting collaboration between suppliers and back-office design teams to ensure timely and effective issue resolution

Pay, Benefits and Culture

Alongside a competitive salary ranging between £60,000 and £70,000pa and potential for an annual bonus, and a market-leading pension scheme, your package will include customisable benefits such as electric vehicle leasing, discounted gym membership, life assurance, tech vouchers, experience days, and more.

Why Join Us?

For more than 60 years, nuclear power stations in the UK have been quietly keeping Britain fuelled with massive amounts of home-grown energy.

Our teams up and down the country are proudly continuing to serve the nation – but they also have an eye on the future.

EDF is leading the UK's nuclear renaissance with the construction of a new nuclear power station at Hinkley Point C and plans for a new power station at Sizewell C in Suffolk.

Nuclear power is the most reliable, low-carbon energy source currently available to the UK. EDF is playing a key role in the development of nuclear sites, while Hinkley Point C will provide low-carbon electricity to meet 7% of the UK demand. The project is already making a positive impact on the local and national economy as well as boosting skills and education.

We’re not just building new nuclear power stations. We’re developing careers, upskilling generations and creating thousands of employment and apprenticeship opportunities across a variety of skills areas.

It takes a special kind of person to work in the nuclear energy industry and although we have thousands of them there’s always a need for more.

Our industry has a mind-boggling range of opportunities and more jobs, and in more places, than you might think. But it’s also an industry which is changing.

We’re a responsible business and proud to be Britain’s biggest generator of zero carbon electricity. With size, age and experience, we believe we can do even more.
