About WhyGolf
WhyGolf helps golfers play better through innovative training aids and a golf app built to help players make smarter decisions on the course. We're hiring a Hands-On Creative Lead on a contract basis to turn that value into compelling creative.
Our training aids help golfers improve their swing, putting, and practice. The WhyGolf App brings together GPS, shot tracking, strokes gained analytics, and course management tools.
The Role
You'll own creative from business objective to finished image and video assets, primarily for the WhyGolf App, with potential work across our training-aid business.
This is a senior individual contributor role with substantial hands-on production. You'll combine excellent taste and design instincts with persuasive copywriting, creative strategy, and the ability to personally make the work.
Given an objective like “help golfers understand why AimAssist matters,” you'll develop the message, concept, headlines, script, visual direction, and finished assets. You'll have room to propose ideas, make creative decisions, and carry projects through delivery with limited day-to-day direction.
Responsibilities
Learn our products, brand, golfer audience, and customer motivations; translate features into clear, compelling benefits.
Develop campaign concepts, advertising angles, hooks, headlines, short scripts, and calls to action.
Establish and maintain a cohesive visual identity across marketing assets.
Personally design polished static ads, social graphics, App Store assets, and supporting campaign imagery.
Personally produce short-form video ads, product demonstrations, app animations, motion graphics, and edits using existing footage.
Use AI tools where useful for ideation, imagery, video, and production efficiency, applying strong human judgment and careful finishing.
Create distinct concepts and meaningful variations for testing; use performance results and feedback to improve the messaging and creative.
Manage projects from brief through delivery, proactively proposing ideas and meeting agreed deadlines.
Collaborate with existing agencies or creators when useful while retaining ownership of the finished result.
Requirements
A strong portfolio demonstrating both static design and video or motion work you personally created.
Excellent typography, composition, visual hierarchy, pacing, and brand judgment.
Demonstrated ability to independently develop concepts and write persuasive copy.
Experience creating paid-social creative for consumer brands or apps, balancing polished brand work with clear, effective performance advertising.
Strong proficiency with relevant design, editing, and motion tools. Your demonstrated output matters more than a particular software checklist.
Experience using AI within a professional creative workflow.
Clear communication, reliable execution, and comfort owning both creative decisions and hands-on production.
You'll Stand Out If You...
Know or enjoy golf and understand how golfers think about improving their game.
Contract Engagement
This is a contract position for a senior creative who enjoys personally taking ideas through to finished work.
How to Apply
Please send:
Your resume or a brief summary of relevant experience.
A portfolio with both static and video/motion examples. For selected projects, identify what you personally owned: concept, copy, design, editing, or animation.
A short note answering: Tell us about a project where you took a loose business objective through to finished creative. What did you make, what did you personally own, and how did you judge whether it worked?
